Highly political
Revisado: 03-29-20
I couldn’t even get through it. This book is so political and clearly biased. Even if you agree politically, it’s so biased, the scenarios it sets up make everyone on the other side of the aisle sound like complete idiots with nothing valid to say. That’s not useful. I have no interest in extreme political views on either side. Learning to “win” an argument between two extremists on opposites sides gets us nowhere as a society. That is not effective communication. Effective communication involves listening and working to understand views unlike your own.

Historia
A landmark court ruling in Japan has stated that, since prostitution in their country is a business transaction, wives can't claim it as adultery. So why is this a big deal? Japanese wives are entitled to monetary compensation when their husbands have mistresses. Susie is torn about this: She's sympathetic to prostitutes being able to earn their livelihoods, but this does take power away from Japanese women. The court ruling was issued...yes, by a man.

Yikes!
Revisado: 08-05-19
Oh my gosh. Eesh!
I have no idea what this woman’s actual opinions and views are, but I was so disturbed and put off by her tone and constant laughing while discussing these serious topics, I can’t handle listening to anything more from her. The content is interesting, but the way this woman laughs through it all is seriously disturbing. Yikes.
