not what i expected
Revisado: 03-29-15
After reading some of the other reviews I thought I would give it a listen, and really enjoyed it. Campbell has created a vary believable world and well thought out characters. Finding out that it was YA really didn't change any thing in my option. I am looking forward to listening to the next book in the series.

Historia
Under the leadership of her fearless skipper, Captain Gene Fluckey, the Barb sank the greatest tonnage of any American sub in World War II. At the same time, the Barb did far more than merely sink ships-she changed forever the way submarines stalk and kill their prey.
This is a gripping adventure chock-full of "you-are-there" moments. Fluckey has drawn on logs, reports, letters, interviews, and a recently discovered illegal diary kept by one of his torpedomen.

Loved it
Revisado: 10-07-14
If you could sum up Thunder Below! in three words, what would they be?
Real life is better than fiction! I know that's more than 3 words, but sometimes real life is far more interesting than anything someone can just make up.
What other book might you compare Thunder Below! to and why?
I guess I would compare it to Blackhawk Down. You listen to this book and think that this is made up, but it's not it's all real. I enjoyed how the author incorporated the reports from the Japanese, it is a refreshing change to see the other side's perspective of how things happened.
Which character – as performed by Corey Snow – was your favorite?
I didn't have a favorite.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
If I could have listened to the whole thing in one sitting I would have. It was a book I found myself listening to every chance I got.
Any additional comments?
I typically don't listen to non-fiction but I really enjoyed this book.

Better than I thought it would be
Revisado: 02-21-13
Would you listen to Dead of Night again? Why?
Yes I would, Maberry makes you think the end of the world really could start this way. It was a pretty good zombie story.
What other book might you compare Dead of Night to and why?
Its comparable to Patient Zero also by Maberry.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
It was more of the descriptions and details than any one moment, Maberry paints a pretty gruesome picture of the attacks and gore.

Not Bad
Revisado: 02-10-12
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
I was rather dispointed by the ending of the story. It was as if the author didn't know how to finish the story. There was the build up and then nothing.
Have you listened to any of Marc Thompson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have never been disapointed by any book I have listened to that Marc Thompson has done.
