Historia
In a novel that could have been pulled from today’s headlines, Dr. Tom Barrett, respected surgeon and returning war veteran, discovers the practices of some unscrupulous executives in the American pharmaceutical industry. Dangerously effective, they result in skyrocketing prices, misleading advertising, manipulation of health care professionals, rigged research, and the suppression of competition. Their objective is to spike earnings by constantly raising prices of medicines for patients whose health and survival depend on them.

A timely, notable and enjoyable novel
Revisado: 09-18-21
Strong Medicine, the most recent novel by Robert M. Reece, MD, is another notable addition to Dr. Reece’s portfolio and an enjoyable book to read. The main plot of the book, which involves devious business practices in the pharmaceutical industry similar to those reported by the news media in recent years, makes Strong Medicine a timely story. Dr. Reece is quite a talented writer. Sometimes I have trouble following the subplots and characters in a novel and find myself going back to reread sections, but not this book! It caught my interest from the very beginning and held it all the way through.
