Historia
You’ve read the headlines, but you don’t know Jamie Lynn Spears. The world first met Jamie Lynn as a child star, when it was her job to perform, both on set and for the press. She spent years escaping into different characters—on All That, Zoey 101, and even in the role as Britney’s kid sister. But as she grew up, faced a teen pregnancy, raised her daughter on her own, pursued a career, and learned to stand on her own two feet, the real Jamie Lynn started to take center stage - a raw, blemished, and imperfect woman, standing in her own power.

boring story about average housewife.
Revisado: 11-08-23
nothing about Brittany and mostly about her philosophy of motherhood and being a wife. don't be fooled by Brittany's nod to the book in her book. there's really nothing in Jamie's book of any significance.

disappointed
Revisado: 09-12-22
this is not a book about this authors descent from cheer coach to junkie. that would have been interesting. this is a long and tedious story about her time in jail, which was quite boring, and where she met some lovely, boring people. I had to finally give up, especially when the story moves into her time at rehab where she found God. I kept thinking I bought the wrong book, that maybe there was a book 1 and book 2, and I accidentally bought book 2. I can't figure out how the book has such good reviews other that it must have been fluffed up by the church she's affiliated with. the summary is very misleading.

terrible narration
Revisado: 12-27-21
I had to return this book. I couldn't stand to listen to the narrator read the book in an upbeat, sing song voice any longer considering the gravity of the content. auschwitz was made to seem like a summer camp and even dr mengele was made to sound like a reasonable and affable guy.

In this brave and moving memoir, Corey Feldman is revealing the truth about what his life was like behind the scenes: His is a past that included physical, drug, and sexual abuse, a dysfunctional family from which he was emancipated at age fifteen, three high-profile arrests for drug possession, a nine-month stint in rehab, and a long, slow crawl back to the top of the box office.

Historia
In early 2000, Adnan Syed was convicted and sentenced to life plus thirty years for the murder of his ex-girlfriend Hae Min Lee, a high school senior in Baltimore, Maryland. Syed has maintained his innocence, and Rabia Chaudry, a family friend, has always believed him. By 2013, after almost all appeals had been exhausted, Rabia contacted Sarah Koenig, a producer at This American Life, in hopes of finding a journalist who could shed light on Adnan’s story. In 2014, Koenig's investigation turned into Serial, a Peabody Award-winning podcast with more than 500 million international listeners.

superb.
Revisado: 09-11-16
this author is multi-talented and has written a book so superbly written and narrated it cannot be missed, even if you have serial fatigue. she has brought to light the issue of wrongful conviction into the public narrative and she should be thanked for that by all.
