this is a long read. it begins as a romance, but evolves into a mystery with dark overtones. I would love to see this in a screenplay, which might be easily be adapted by one of the last narratives, they can title it Fosco.

GREAT STORY
Revisado: 01-26-24
riveting account of the duality of man. Stevenson is a master of invoking pity for man’s lower nature. In it, the reader can feel the fight between the two beasts as well of the need to feed one beast over another.

Historia
The Last Man is Mary Shelley's apocalyptic fantasy of the end of human civilisation. Set in the late twenty-first century, the novel unfolds a sombre and pessimistic vision of mankind confronting inevitable destruction. Interwoven with her futuristic theme, Mary Shelley incorporates idealised portraits of Shelley and Byron, yet rejects Romanticism and its faith in art and nature.

Historia
The Land of Mist is a novel written by Arthur Conan Doyle in 1926. Although this is a Professor Challenger story, it centres more on his daughter Enid and her colleague. Heavily influenced by Doyle’s growing belief in Spiritualism after the death of his son, brother, and two nephews in World War I, the book focuses on Edward Malone’s at first professional, and later personal interest in Spiritualism.

Having read Doyle many times I was caught off guard by his handle on Spiritualism. His other books focus so much on logic that reading this makes Doyle more well rounded revealing a man both logical and deeply spiritual.
