Historia
Zara Riddle was looking forward to her first Halloween as a witch. Then the little girl ghost showed up. Zara puts costume shopping on hold, rolls up her sleeves, and does her usual "witcher-i-doo". But nothing works as planned. Mistakes are made. Dinner parties are ruined. (More than usual.) Could this stubborn spirit be connected to a family member's past? Perhaps the "big tragic secret" nobody talks about? Zara won't rest until she gets to the truth, even if means pushing the whole coven to the breaking point. And break they do.

I laughed. I cried. I got confused. I got answers. I will be using the phrase "rainbow booties" every chance I get. The phrases "Ding-dong" and "Floopy-doop" have already seeped into my vocabulary. When are we getting book 12???

Historia
Eleanor, the charming manager of a cozy tea shop, enjoys the transportive ritual of making a cup of Masala Chai tea, reminisces about the tea's origins, and delights in the beauty of her quaint English village during the holidays. Bedtime stories are narrated by the world's most celebrated voices and written with no beginning, middle, or end so you don't stay up to hear what happens next. They're interesting enough to give your mind something to focus on, but delivered in a way that encourages sleep.

Perfect.
Revisado: 08-06-20
This is absolutely the most perfect story and narration for falling asleep! I've only made it all the way thru the whole story once, because of a relentless headache. Every other time, I'm dead asleep somewhere in the middle. The story is interesting, and informative, but not so wildly intriguing that you feel the need to stay awake to hear what happens next. The narrative is descriptive, a little repetitive, and rolls in a way similar to the sound of ocean waves or a train on the tracks. Ba-dum, ba-dum, ba-dum... very soothing and lulling. The narrator's voice is perfect, soothing and enchanting in her beautifully British-accented way. She rolls along with the ba-dum rhythm, soothing and relaxing the listener with her gentle lilt, and slows and softens as she goes, completely inducing and encouraging sleep. Definite must-listen for anyone needing a good night's sleep!

Historia
When a magic mechanic takes The Big Nap in a comfy chair at the library, suspicion turns to the local librarian witch. What has Zara Riddle done now? Poisoned the guy for talking too loud? She shrugs off the accusations, as usual, and tries to help with the investigation, also as usual. But this time around, the local vampire detective isn't swinging by Zara's house to take her along for the ride. He may be Zara's boyfriend after hours, but when it comes to solving crimes, he has a new partner.

Historia
Zara Riddle is used to being woken up in the middle of the night by magical creatures. Being a witch is incredibly fun, but it does have a few drawbacks. Zara's powers make her appealing to the recently deceased, who are always showing up seeking her help. When Zara's resident telepathic wyvern wakes her up to announce there's a new ghost in the house, she greets the new spirit, locates the crime scene, and notifies the authorities. All before the sun comes up. Zara's work is done. The town's detective should be able to solve this homicide without her. The detective has other ideas.

Relatable, but...
Revisado: 06-12-20
I found the Zoom scene in the first story so relatable, I laughed my butt off. The first story was funny, and the quarantine related points hit home. The narrator nailed the voices and the timing. Perfect. The second story was just depressing. Their sad dad, basically a waste of space, dies, and all they care about is the house, which was also sad and a waste of space, as were both sons. The narrator was also depressing, sounding almost like an automated voice. Just depressing all around. I totally related to the woman in the third story, on every level. It was both funny and scary, sometimes in the same moment. This narrator, she nailed it, dead on. Again, perfect.

Fantastic!
Revisado: 05-26-20
I just absolutely LOVE these books!!! Zinnia and her friends are hilarious! The narrator for this book (and the last) speaks too slowly, and her voice is too low. I upped the speed to 1.15, and it was perfect. She does the voices well, but I still miss the previous narrator, and I'm looking forward to having her back in the next book.

Historia
Zinnia Riddle doesn't use her witch powers much these days. She works as a clerk at the Wisteria Permits Department, where there hasn't been much need for spells and potions...until now. When a beloved coworker is found dead next to her desk, the whole office gets paranoid. Is one of them a killer? Did the victim leave behind clues in the book she was writing? Is there a town-wide conspiracy, or is some lone serial predator on the loose?

Revisado: 05-25-20
I love this author, and I love these books, but this narrator was not quite right. She talked too slow, too low. I had to up the speed to 1.15 for her to sound normal. I miss the previous narrator. But she did a good job with the voices overall. And I still love these books!

Historia
The Waverleys have always been a curious family, endowed with peculiar gifts that make them outsiders even in their hometown of Bascom, North Carolina. Even their garden has a reputation, famous for its feisty apple tree that bears prophetic fruit, and its edible flowers, imbued with special powers.
Generations of Waverleys tended this garden. Their history was in the soil. But so were their futures.
Together again in the house they grew up in, the Waverley sisters realize they must deal with their common legacy - if they are ever to feel at home in Bascom - or with each other.
