Unfortunately, i cannot give this book high praise

because the hype did not.live up to my expectations.perhaps i am a person who expects "a thrilling twist' is more than is given. this is some thing the author & publisher need to consider. i found the narration kind of boring, a little adolescent, & therefore doesn't meld like people thing it should, i.,e., police pause the public. Someone invested in psychology i did't find the expertise necessary to complete the plot in a believable way. this is the book i ever read where everyones input clashed.

"What.!?.?"

How to review this book? i guess i would have to start with words to describe the story line, like "Weird", Unreal, Down the Rabbit Hole Mentality. Plus "Unbelievable ,and a whole bunch of "What's?."? And that anyone should suffer through a non-plot like this is bizarre to say the least. for the life of me i can't even start to figure out the "WHY," of this book. Outside of tons of lies, a little sex & pretty good narration it certainly doesn't have much going for it except it fits all the requirements of a conspiracy theory. And i am still trying to figure out what color hair the female villain ended up having.

Book great, Narration excellent

The book itself was tremendous. However i was totally blown away by the narrator George Guidall in this book. I have heard his performance many times but never like this. Speaking all the parts is certainly a challenge, but he made this book come alive like i never heard him do before. I was totally mesmerized by his excellent performance! Way to go George!

Hard ti realign myself from tv series

After acclumenting myself to these two characters on TV i just could not switch to this writers plot. Sorry. i tried to see it as a new story but dissonance won out. i guess there was just too many differences for me to be comfortable.

WOW, What s book!

Although this book can in all truth be considered gross at times it make up for that by being an excellent example of of great book. It lacks nothing including shutting down the reader eery time they try to guess who the "killer' is. The narration was fabulous. The story line overflowing with interesting medical information of the 1800's. Even love had a firm hold on the story. The characters came alive continually through out the book.

Too much of everything but a good story

Tami Hoag is one of my favorite authors. but this books only saving quality was the characters descriptions. beyond that i felt over doesed in too much sex, self pity that went tno where, & a very weak story line. It certainly brought the south down!

I Tried, I Really did!

I was first inspired to read this book because it stated it was true, but the more i listened to it the less enchanted i became, A few characters held up for a great deal of the time, until it seemed hundreds of (extras) where thrown in but for ever reason did nothing to improve the story. The plot not only did not thicken, but got weaker & looser until it was nauseum. i have never read a book that made me scream, pull my hair out & want to barf like this book did. In fact the only thing i think this author could do was talk about prostitues, drugs & how to shoot up. What a waste of time!

Shouldn't have gotten so psyched up!

After reading some of the reviews, i was very anxious to hear this book. but to be truthful the story was not only confusing, but also left me hanging a number of times. To me, it seemed the author was trying to write something original & ended up plucking mostly bogus themes. if I were to pick 3 words to describe this boo, i would say "Over the top." So much of the writing was disconnected. but the most annoying thing was, it was incomplete almost the entire way through & by the time i got to the end (which i am only guessing was the end) nothing jelled together - not the characters, not the numerous plots, nothing. As for the writing & narration was concerned, i would give give that a 'B'. But that too was difficult to understand as if the author kept holding the answers above my head. And the last thing i want to know is, "What was this book really all about?"

Interesting story. Intriguing.

.Although i never had a group of girls that was so close as friends, it was cool to hear the narration. And the suspense was electrifying. i never guessed that while a climbing vacation was in the works, a plan for murder was also in the works Can't say anymore or it would be a spoiler alert.

You've got to be Kidding!!!!

I am sorry but I just could not choke down the narration of this book. can't anyone tell all these people need voice lessons, acting lessons or any other kind of training to be presentable as narrators. nothing about this narration flowed or sounded authentic. as I said it was beyond awful!!!
