creative Magic and multiple character type development

This story has developed well, and the characters are likable. The only complaint that I have with it and other stories like it is the perspective that the younger characters are competent and the adults are not. The development of the magic and characters is great, but so many times the adults look like they are making stupid mistakes and are oblivious.

great HP inspired book. the main character and magic are creative. I wish his creations were not so disposable, though.

there were a lot of similarities with HP, but still a good story.. it would be nice to see developments in magic and other characters as this story continues.

The plot is good, but half of book is Stats...

The creative plot is great. The main character made a lot of poor decisions this book, but still lucked out. It would have been better if stats weren't detailed and repeated every other chapter though.

intelligent and inspired characters and plot

I love the misfit dragons the most, but all the characters are great and not drawn out emotional, which makes a good story. The plot is insightful with common story flow.
only complaint are the stat and leveling spots are WAY too long ... almost stopped listening altogether to audible.
great story.. looking forward to book 2

This was an exciting addition to the story and I loved returning characters. The new creatures, powers, and pace of it was perfect.

Hogwarts meets Pokémon and Mortal Instruments

I love the creativity in Shami's magical world. Bringing old characters from previous series, new and young characters along with teasers of bigger battles yet to happen, and always developing the creatures shows promise for this new timeline story. I look forward to the next book.

Loved this series in its world Shami created. Though some of the inner thoughts written made some parts slow, the overall plot was great, I definitely loved characters, and of course the magical creatures and magical power bonding was genius..

This one was definitely a better addition to the series.. There wasn't too much constipation in main characters thoughts, the monologing wasn't exhausting, and the magical clustering of characters wasn't lost.. I cannot wait to see where the characters go from here.
