Historia
Detective Porter and the team have been pulled from the hunt for Anson Bishop, the Four Monkey Killer, by the feds. When the body of a young girl is found beneath the frozen waters of Jackson Park Lagoon, she is quickly identified as Ella Reynolds, missing three weeks. But how did she get there? The lagoon froze months earlier. More baffling? She's found wearing the clothes of another girl, missing less than two days.

Truly remarkable!
Revisado: 08-09-21
I don’t know where to begin. Mr. Barker has created a world of unbelievable twists and turns. This is a series that demands love for both the good guy & the bad guy. Each character is so richly woven one can see & identify them all. I don’t know where the next book will take me, but I cannot wait to get onboard & delve deeper into the madness that is Anson Bishop.

Historia
Se7en meets The Silence of the Lambs in this dark and twisting novel from the author Jeffery Deaver called "a talented writer with a delightfully devious mind". For over five years, the Four Monkey Killer has terrorized the residents of Chicago. When his body is found, the police quickly realize he was on his way to deliver one final message, one that proves he has taken another victim, who may still be alive.

Terrific novel!
Revisado: 07-20-21
The Fourth Monkey was a terrific novel. Very well written and plotted. I was torn between Porter’s point of view & the 4MK’s point of view. Both drew the reader into their stories, bringing the characters to life on the page. I will read other books by this author.
The narrator did a fabulous job as well. I liked the use of his many voices to differentiate the characters.

Disturbing.
Revisado: 09-10-19
This story was disturbing in subject matter and accuracy. Well told with a preponderance of the two-faced masks worn by pedophiles & woven throughout the tapestry of history. Mr. Iles is a superb storyteller.

Historia
When Dr. Louis Creed takes a new job and moves his family to the idyllic, rural town of Ludlow, Maine, this new beginning seems too good to be true. Yet despite Ludlow's tranquility, there's an undercurrent of danger that lingers...like the graveyard in the woods near the Creeds' home, where generations of children have buried their beloved pets.

SUPERBLY NARRATED!
Revisado: 03-21-19
Read when it first was published and loved it! A terrible, horrible, "it could've been me" story. With my children grown, one parent deceased, one sister taken by a dreadful wreck, maybe I'm more focused more on the horror of loss and how easily the plot could become a reality in the shell-shocked aftermath. Maybe because Michael C. Hall gave it new life. Whatever the reason, the terrible horrible terrific story is still in my mind (& nightmares) after listening to it several weeks ago. I'd love to hear Mr. Hall narrate more of Mr. King's work. He is absolutely THE BEST narrator I've ever listened to, and I have listened to hundreds of books. It's funny how the writer's voice comes to life in the telling of the story. The narrator becomes the character's voices ... And once in a great while, the stars align, the Heavens open, and the sun shines down to angels singing. It was that fantastic! Mr. Hall never stuttered, never stumbled, never strayed. I felt that I witnessed first-hand Louis Creed's descent into madness complete with sound effects. It was a movie in my imagination; each of my senses filled, right down to the screams and mewling (narrator's personification) the story uttered. Hats off to perfection. Nothing better than a novel that melds with reality; unless it's the little boy grinning and grinning in my nightmares.
