should have listened to the 'sample' first!

I love Stephen King books but the narrator of THIS book makes me wish I had listened to the 'sample' first. The narrator makes the book so dry that I'm struggling to keep listening and I think I'm BARELY into the first chapter! and the music is CONSTANTLY interrupting the flow, what LITTLE flowers there is, of the book! wasted a credit on a book that is practically monotonous to listen to!

I didn't remember this book being soooo sllooooow. can't even finish it, it's just to slow! and I am pretty familiar with King's books. so I know some of his books start slow, but I'm like something like 10'ish hours in. 🙄😒🤦‍♂️

the story itself is rather interesting but the narrator?? has less expressions and emotions than a month old dead fish. literally the story suffers tragically and horribly because of the narrator alone! I had a teacher that could turn even the worst subjects into entertaining hours of fun education. this narrator could turn the most exciting of subjects into a atrocious grind of undiluted misery!

read these in middle school, and have been a fan of the series ever since. the one part I can't listen to anymore is Jack with Hog Bristow, "buckwheats". have to skip that part. hear it once and you'll never need to hear it again! promise.

people reviewed this book claiming "its a fairytale for adults". 90 chapters had absolutely next to nothing to do with "a fairytale" whatsoever. chapter 103 and gave up trying to finish it. never have I stopped listening to an audio book so close to the end but listening to this book was literally grueling! no emotion from the narrator and the story is far, FAR too drawn out. wouldn't recommend and will be removing from my library. absolute waste of a credit!

this genuinely took me back. back 15+ years. didn't think I'd feel as nostalgic as I did. but here I was laughing out loud and feeling giddy like I did the first listening so many years ago. love it!

obviously books are better than their movie counterparts, but this book was DRASTICALLY different and far better! but then the few books I've read by Dean Koontz have all been phenomenal! yes I highly recommend!

narration needs to be changed.

I see the "narrator" is the same as "God's Eye." can already tell listening to this is going to be a sluggish chore to get through with little to no enjoyment. ALL the characters sound the same, the emotional range is surprisingly somehow worse than Jennifer Lawrence's acting! 🙄😒🤦‍♂️

what happened??

this "new" narrator has the emotional range of a month old dead fish! why did they get a "new" narrator!? the story itself was good, but the narration nullified almost all interest I had for the series moving forward.
