Historia
After she was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease in her early 20s, Phoebe Lapine felt overwhelmed by her doctor's strict protocols and confused when they directly conflicted with information on the best-seller list. After experiencing mixed results and a life of deprivation that seemed unsustainable at best, she adopted 12 of her own wellness directives - including eliminating sugar, switching to all-natural beauty products, and getting in touch with her spiritual side.

Can’t get past pronunciation. Bummer.
Revisado: 08-26-21
Maybe it’s an American accent I’m unfamiliar with but I just couldn’t keep listening to the authors narration of her story because her mispronunciations of t’s to d’s “Manhadden” “cardon” “cerdaintly”.
I’m giving the story five stars because her writing is fine and she’s conveying her own story of her process so I can’t fault her for that. There was nothing new for me but the story was fine and hers.
I guess if you’re going to give this story a listen, since it’s an Audible plus catalog, no harm in trying it.
I do wish all these self help people would stop narrating their own books, or get some coaching on basic narration (in this author’s case on enunciation and pronunciation)- so those of us sensitive to these things would be able to listen. Then again, maybe it’s just not meant for us…

Narrator ruins the book

The pronunciations of the Mandarin are excruciating. Can’t even stand to listen - although I love this book.

A must read for women with late diagnosis
Revisado: 10-09-20
Jennifer’s book illuminated so many blind spots for me in my life as an undiagnosed autistic female. I cried, laughed and listened along with my husband so I could share my own experience and get his perspective on parts I didn’t understand. We both learned so much.

Incredible Read and Listen
Revisado: 07-29-13
Where does Breakfast with Buddha rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This is one of the best audiobooks I've ever listened to.
What other book might you compare Breakfast with Buddha to and why?
I might compare this novel to Paulo Coelho books, but even more spiritual.
Have you listened to any of Sean Runnette’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This was my first listen to Sean Runnette and he blew my mind. He flawlessly transitioned from character to character with accents, moods, inflections, etc.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
This book had some depth to it. I had to stop it periodically to let ideas and emotions that came up because of it soak. I needed to let some parts stew before going on.
Any additional comments?
