Great book. Plenty to take away, even if I don’t agree with it all, it opens up new ways to look at a few things.

Historia
Most organizations and individuals work in the context of annual goals and plans; a 12-month execution cycle. Instead, The 12 Week Year avoids the pitfalls and low productivity of annualized thinking. This book redefines your "year" to be 12 weeks long. In 12 weeks, there just isn't enough time to get complacent, and urgency increases and intensifies. The 12 Week Year creates focus and clarity on what matters most and a sense of urgency to do it now. In the end more of the important stuff gets done and the impact on results is profound.

Solid theories, although a guide more than a how to. PDF isn’t much chop. Worth a listen regardless.

Historia
Can’t Hurt Me, David Goggins’ smash hit memoir, demonstrated how much untapped ability we all have but was merely an introduction to the power of the mind. In Never Finished, Goggins takes you inside his Mental Lab, where he developed the philosophy, psychology, and strategies that enabled him to learn that what he thought was his limit was only his beginning and that the quest for greatness is unending.

Stick to the first book.
Revisado: 01-07-23
I found the first book inspirational, whereas this 2nd book was more just bragging. I’ve listened to the first book 6 times. Once was more than enough for this one, got very hard to listen to half way in and beyond. Some of this stuff should just be discussed with a therapist, particularly the interview with his mother.

Groundbreaking, thrilling and revealing, The Reaper is the astonishing memoir of Special Operations Direct Action Sniper Nicholas Irving, the 3rd Ranger Battalion's deadliest sniper with 33 confirmed kills, though his remarkable career total, including probables, is unknown. Irving shares the true story of his extraordinary military career, including his deployment to Afghanistan in the summer of 2009, when he set another record, this time for enemy kills on a single deployment.

Revisado: 07-06-21
Great stories. Would have been better read by the author. Unfortunately the narrator sounds like he should be reading self help books, not action stories. 1.2x speed made it more tolerable.

Historia
Lewis Howes grew up as an athlete. He was a two-sport All-American and went on to play football professionally. Howes then transferred his competitive nature from sports to business, building his podcast, The School of Greatness, into a global phenomenon. But his whole identity was built on misguided beliefs about what "masculinity" was: dangerous, false ideas learned from teammates and coaches in locker rooms and stereotypes in the media. Like so many men, Howes grew up to be angry, frustrated, and always chasing something that was never enough.

Every man should listen to this book
Revisado: 03-02-21
This book is a good resource explaining why we are the way we are. Having struggled in life unable to understand actions I commit and instantly dislike, this book puts them into perspective. Every man is wearing at least one of these masks. Unfortunately I’ve worn them all. This may be the hardest book you’ll ever listen to, to acknowledge who you are and how you behave, but to understand why, to have it highlighted and thrown in your face, will help you to attempt to change the traits you dislike in yourself and to begin to make change, understand and accept, and work toward a better you.
Your partner, male or female, will also benefit from this book to understand why you do the things you do, and how they can help and respond which doesn’t end badly.
Great book. Wish I’d listened to it when it was released in 2017 and saved 4 years of mistakes. As he said, the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The next best time is today.
Great book.

Historia
Few entrepreneurs can claim to have radically changed the way we live, and Ray Kroc is one of them. His revolutions in food-service automation, franchising, shared national training, and advertising have earned him a place beside the men and women who have founded not only businesses, but entire empires. But even more interesting than Ray Kroc the business man is Ray Kroc the man. Not your typical self-made tycoon, Kroc was 52 years old when he opened his first franchise.

The book is fast and energetic which is fun. I learnt more of what I should avoid than what I should target. Helpful overall. The author mentions Made to Stick twice. Definitely a great resource worth listening to along with this book.

Historia
Some people think that in today’s hyper-competitive world, it’s the tough, take-no-prisoners type who comes out on top. But in reality, argues New York Times bestselling author Dave Kerpen, it’s actually those with the best people skills who win the day. Those who build the right relationships. Those who truly understand and connect with their colleagues, their customers, their partners. Those who can teach, lead, and inspire.

In this provocative yet practical audiobook, renowned speaking coach and communication expert Nick Morgan highlights recent research that shows how humans are programmed to respond to the nonverbal cues of others - subtle gestures, sounds, and signals - that elicit emotion. He then provides a clear, useful framework of seven "power cues" that will be essential for any leader in business, the public sector, or almost any context.

Like a good movie, better every time I listen
Revisado: 12-26-18
The author has done a brilliant job in highlighting what many of us do daily subconsciously. By highlighting the meaning and importance of these movements and gestures has assisted me in controlling the more negative traits, and work on the more positive moves. The narration allows you to listen to the book with ease, unlike so many other books on this platform.
Currently listening to the book for a 2nd time, and like every good movie, I'm picking up little pieces that were missed the first time around. I'm sure this will happen when I listen to it for a 3rd time. This is one of those books, just like the 7 Habits, where it should be listened to every 6 months for a refresh and to track one's own progress of self improvement. 5 stars all round.
