Section 31, the covert organization that has operated without accountability in the shadows for more than two centuries, has been exposed. Throughout the Federation, the rogue group’s agents and leaders are being taken into custody as the sheer scope of its misdeeds comes to light. Took a chance
Revisado: 04-17-25
First attempt to get into trek books. So many authors out there, I went by ratings. Didn’t like the narrator at all. Story was hard to follow. The only redeeming factor was sort of recognizing some characters. Archiving this book. Wasn’t purchased with a credit so un- returnable.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Humorous dialogue
Revisado: 02-04-25
I loved this book and the narrator was perfect. If I would have read instead if listened, I know it wouldn’t be the same. So glad there’s a movie coming out. I hope it keeps the same feeling as this audio book.

Historia
When the crows gather over a remote Navajo Reservation in the deep Southwest, it is a sign that the thin veil that separates our world from the one beyond is about to open. Without a barrier between life and death, things pass between both worlds. Some of them are good. Most of them are not.

Not what I expected
Revisado: 06-29-24
I’m only on the first book and I’m planning on returning. The story was great as told by the main character but then there was so much dwelling on cancer. I happen to be going through treatment right now and it felt so unsettling. Between the nurse and doctor I couldn’t catch a break. I listen to remove myself from life’s bad stuff so this is not for me. Besides I wasn’t sure about a white guy writing about a culture not his own. Too bad since many people like him and his writing.

Story lagged
Revisado: 03-26-24
My expectations were high, and I was dissatisfied with the stories. I was oftentimes frustrated as there was nonsensical twists. I enjoyed the accent and the insight into what a small Irish town was like.

Didn’t like the spoken @‘s and #’s
Revisado: 03-26-23
The narration of every response in the game, twitter and online was very distracting not to mention the overwhelming cast of characters I couldn’t keep straight. I liked the character development when we finally got to it but I honestly couldn’t wait to finish it and even skipped chapters. However, I’m a fan and look forward to the next book.

my favorite narrator
Revisado: 02-22-21
The storyline was interesting, however there was too much minutae to try to understand. and why is every single character over the age of 40 sound like a wheezing hag? All the detail describing "creaking knees" and "paper fine skin" might apply to one character but not all people age so terribly. Strike hates the new secretary because she's what, 50? Ageism abounds.

wanted to like it more
Revisado: 12-20-20
Despite the fascinating subject matter, the author seemed somewhat arrogant and cold. it could be that her own narration wasn't ideal for an audio book. I found no emotion in her voice.

Reservation "bad boy" Thomas Begay is found dead drunk under the La Plata Bridge, which is not unusual for him. What is unusual, however, is that beautiful BIA investigator Patsy Greyhorse is found lying beside him, not drunk or even a Navajo but very dead nonetheless. Charlie Yazzie, fresh from law school, risks his career and even his life to help his old friend. The answer seems to lie with the Yeenaaldiooshii...should one choose to believe in such things.
