Historia
Four decades after it first shook the nation, then the world, William Peter Blatty's thrilling masterwork of faith and demonic possession returns in an even more powerful form. Raw and profane, shocking and blood-chilling, it remains a modern parable of good and evil and perhaps the most terrifying novel ever written.

Of course, the story is a classic, but to hear it read by the author takes it to a whole new level. His cadence draws you in and keeps you spellbound

Historia
Since his wife died, Ralph Roberts has been having trouble sleeping. Each night he wakes up a bit earlier until he's barely sleeping at all. During his late-night walks, he observes some strange things going on in Derry, Maine. He sees colored ribbons streaming from people's heads, two strange little men wandering around town after dark, and more. He begins to suspect that these visions are something more than hallucinations brought on by lack of sleep.

Great story, excellent narration, and a binge worthy experience. I’d read it several times, but I was hesitant to listen. I should’ve known better. Fantastic

Character flaws
Revisado: 02-16-24
Story was good but the main character, who was supposed to have abilities, is scared by every encounter she has. The relationship aspect is too glossy and perfect to be credible, and neither character has much depth. I think the author might be good, but this one fell flat.
P.S. if you use words like “coven” and “ritual” and cite the properties of crystals for metaphysical purposes, please try to be a little more aware of the spells cited and the dangers/risks involved

Revisado: 02-03-23
In all the right ways! Didn’t expect more than inane babble to pass the time, but I was completely delighted! Great story, characters are real- you feel like you know them and they all have their moments of compassion and cruelty. Great, unbiased depictions.

Delightful MCP Fueled Fun
Revisado: 01-10-23
Let’s face it, MCP is a narrator worth listening to. Townsend’s style is similar to David Wong (John Dies at the End) and if you enjoy that, this is a perfect fit. Great narration and a fun spin on the Murder Mystery theme

A little girl found a leg on the shore of my lake. The authorities won’t drain the lake to look for the rest of the body. They say it’s impossible, that 5,000 acres is too much, even to look into a potential murder. The thing is...they emptied it out a while ago just to clean up some old sewage. They absolutely can drain the lake if they want to. But maybe they know better than to try.

Historia
Felix Allsey is a travel writer with a keen eye for the paranormal, and he's carved out a unique, if only slightly lucrative, niche for himself in nonfiction; he writes travelogues of the country's most haunted places, after haunting them himself. When he convinces the owner of the infamous Rotterdam Mansion to let him stay on the premises for two weeks, he believes he's finally found the location that will bring him a best seller. Then things start going wrong: screams from upstairs, figures in the thresholds, and more than what should be in any basement.

Great use of what are usually cliché plotlines, making it into a refreshing take on an old theme. I got this after a 3 second glance, because I needed something to listen to. I was not disappointed. Very much worth the listen.
