Omg! Could you possibly depress me more?
Revisado: 02-26-25
I have very rarely hated a book so much. Seriously. This is so dam depressing that I skipped most of it. I basically wasted my point. I am unsure of the objective of this book. Was it to give your readers images of sadness or to just depress them?
EVERY character that was likable was killed off and EVERY whinny, sniffing, whimpering, weeping, weak character that was hated lingered and limped on till the end of the story.
Seriously, you are a very good writer but you are horrible at appreciating and understanding your audience. This was so miserable that it totally turned me off to anything else you write.
Quite simply this was horrible.

A very good series!
Revisado: 12-19-24
This is truly a good writer. There are so few these days. I enjoyed the series tremendously and could not wait to see what would happen next!
Thank you for writing a story that was entertaining and passionate and imaginative! Sincerely, I was about to give up hope.

Predictable
Revisado: 12-12-24
I was disappointed that the ending was predictable and a bit tacky. The author is a good writer but the ending lacked the finesse that the other books had. The horror that was the priestess was down right gross, the cartographer was weak and the story became trite. I hope he does some character work.
I would listen to more by the author to see if he develops as a writer. I hope so. He has real potential.

Very good story!
Revisado: 12-11-24
The writing is very good. Very interesting plot and the twists are good.
The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that I simply hated the character of the priestess. Frankly, the character is just repulsive. I can’t think of a more detestable character.

I hate the brother killer.
Revisado: 11-07-24
I am truly enjoying this series. That being said I HATE the brother killer. Period. None negotiable. The author is trying to make him likable and a victim. I think the word “tool “ has been used. He made a choice and cut his brother’s throat. I keep hoping he will die…horribly. I hated his evil mother too. It just wasn’t believable that she changed before she died. She should have gotten real payback not some quiet death. Honestly, that was disappointing. Please give up on Yonik and let him die…hard…and unforgiven. It will make for a better ending than him being forgiven and making nice with his brother (that he didn’t kill) and his father (that he never knew).

I have NEVER hated a hero more!
Revisado: 09-27-23
Oh if I could give a zero star review. As I said in the heading, I have NEVER hated the hero of any story so much. I literally was rooting for the villain.
This Darrow character was whiny and worthless and stupid. Let’s not forget the big soft forgiving heart of this character 🤮. Seriously, this guy kills his uncle and he “forgives” him. Seriously!🤣
I have read/listened to hundreds of books over the years. This one is among the worst! Just plain stupid. I find myself asking …why? There are so many productive career choices out there, but did this guy choose writing?
And if it is possible, his love interest was worse. I just wanted anybody to kill her off. Anybody! Her name was Mustang. Honestly. It was Mustang! Writers! Please take note! It’s never a good idea to name a character after a dam horse! I listened to an equally horrible book with the main character named Pony and I think I am permanently scarred from that listening experience.
Look. I just plain hated it…all of it. Every horribly written word.
Geez.

Good Sad Epic
Revisado: 06-22-23
I think it’s a good book but it leaves you feeling a bit disappointed. That seems to be the thing now. The hero never wins anymore. It would have been better if he had. Oh well, you can’t unread a book.
I guess I liked it. Love, love, love Simon Vance! What a wonderful narrator.

Can’t give it zero stars!
Revisado: 05-21-23
Agony! Good grief!! I couldn’t make it through this book! The WORST characters ANYONE could have possibly created!
One character was a tramp that thought she was a moral leader and a good person. Another one was an ignorant molested backwater slut looser that thought her only hope was to “have sex” with any man that notice that she was alive. Oh! The last one was a manipulative evil - she devil! Oh yea! She was also a slut!
Ugh! As a woman I sat thinking who is this writer? I want to know what kind of mind dreams up these HIDEOUS women? Not one was smart or strong or clever. They were ALL sluts! Really stupid sluts! Really frustrating and stupid sluts!
It got so bad when that when he started writing the the idiot that was molested by her disgusting father in as the warded man’s love interest I had to stop. Really? I mean really? She had sex with ANYBODY! Anybody! Literally anybody! Enough!
Please give up writing! The world will thank you. I will thank you! I am so mad that I WASTED a credit on this junk!

The saddest thing I ever heard 😭
Revisado: 02-03-23
This had to be the most horrible, heartbreaking, depressing and tragic thing I’ve ever had the misfortune of listening to. Good grief! How on earth is this stuff a part of someone’s culture that is passed down from generation to generation? No!!! It’s just plain wrong 😑.
I quite simply hated EVERY heart wrenching second of it.

WARNING: Don’t waste your point!
Revisado: 01-06-22
I am soooooooooooo disappointed! He was my favorite writer, but this was so horrible that I will NEVER listen to anything he does again. Yes! It’s that bad.
I got 5 friends to start listening to him. I am so embarrassed. I am going to tell them not to bother with this book or Mr. Moeller anymore.
He thought of the worst, most annoying, creepy new characters that could possibly be conceived. I couldn’t make it through the book. I gave up after the 3rd chapter, but I was really rooting for him so I skipped to the end. It was just horrible. Honestly, I wish I could have given negative stars. I would have.
Don’t waste your point. This is very poorly done.
