Historia
Amy Nicols (Lizzy Caplan) was an FBI agent with a dogged need to protect everyone—until that instinct caused her to mishandle a crisis, lose innocent lives, and lose her job. Now a civilian working in private security, that mistake still haunts her. One morning on the commuter train, she overhears a young couple plotting a murder. Ignoring warnings from her family and friends, Amy’s instinct to protect and serve compels her to investigate. But the further she goes, the more she finds her own life in danger.

Not plausible
Revisado: 03-02-25
The idea that a junior FBI agent would be given complete control in managing a domestic terrorist’s takeover of a major airport control tower was not plausible. Since it was the foundation for everything that happened after, the story lost credibility. The last few chapters were interesting, especially the last plot twist but not enough to save this book. Would not recommend it.

Cute story but narration makes it hard to listen
Revisado: 11-06-24
I listened to Book 3 in this series and the story and narration were good enough to entice me to get book 4. However I'm at chapter 15 and can't go any further. Both the male and female narrators sound very amateur and the subtle nuances they attempt to portray in their characters' voices are just distracting. I had planned to listen to a few more books in this series but unfortunately that won't be happening.

Very interesting read. The characters were well developed and the plot exciting as it took twists and turns that I didn't see coming. I hope there is a sequel.

Listened to the entire Watcher Chronicle series
Revisado: 05-29-23
I really enjoyed the Watcher Chronicle series, and listened to all of the books, back to back. This review is a reflection of all of the books. The story was very exciting and engaging throughout, with great character development. If I had one criticism it would be that too much time and detail was spent on the romantic relationship of Jess Riley and Mason in books 3 and 4. It was repetitive and at times gratuitous. However I would still highly recommend this series.

Entertaining and informative
Revisado: 05-29-23
Admired the honest and close relationship the author has with her mother and how it was portrayed in this book. Lots of great suggestions on how to navigate the world of online dating when one has never done so, and the truth about how challenging it can be at times.

Not the right narrator
Revisado: 05-05-23
I only made it part way into the second chapter and had to stop as I found the narrator so annoying I couldn't listen anymore. Her performance sounds forced, like she's trying to adopt the persona of the characters but can't get there. Too bad. From the book summary it appeared to have been a story that I would have enjoyed.

Fun with a bit of predictability
Revisado: 03-29-23
Overall this was a light, very entertaining read. Most of the characters were well developed and relatable with a few overly dramatic. The biggest distraction was the attempted portrayal of an Italian accent in Gabriella Donovan, which sounded more like something from a junior high school play.
The author created an eager anticipation of what would happen next for the reader throughout the story, but changed course for the ending which landed with a predictable thud. Too bad as the rest of the story was enjoyable.

When Marlo is unceremoniously ghosted by her part-time lover, she decides she’ll need to avoid the whole Christmas season. That is actually pretty easy in this country, because it’s so hot and so far away from anything that means Christmas to her. But Marlo’s flatmate Alex is determined to lift her out of her grinch slump and convince her that Christmas Down Under may be unfamiliar, but exactly what she needs to start her life on a new course.

Great holiday read
Revisado: 12-16-22
I really enjoyed this uplifting, very realistic story. Perfect for the holidays. The characters were well developed and even though it wasn't much of a stretch to figure the eventual outcome of the story, it was still fun getting there.

Number-one New York Times best-selling author Diana Gabaldon has captivated millions with her critically acclaimed Outlander novels, the inspiration for the Starz original series. From the moment Claire Randall stepped through a standing stone circle and was thrown back in time to the year 1743 - and into a world that threatens life, limb, loyalty, heart, soul, and everything else Claire has - fans have been hungry to know everything about this world and its inhabitants, particularly a Scottish soldier named Jamie Fraser.

Loved the book but the narration....
Revisado: 12-10-22
I am a huge Outlander and Diana Gabaldon fan, but so wish she had left the narration of this book to someone else. The brief passages narrated by Davina Porter, one of my very favorite narrators, were just not enough to save this narrated version of the book.
Diana is such a gifted author and produces books that I always have a hard time putting down, but not this one. I had to take breaks due to her basically monotoned presentation. She also speaks way too fast. Fortunately with Audible I was able to slow her down and would recommend adjusting the speed to 0.8 for a more enjoyable listen.
The information in the book was fascinating, though Diana's occasion snarky comments about readers who asked questions she felt were unnecessary, was disappointing.
Diana is still one of my very favorite authors and I look forward to Book 10!
