Historia
After more than a decade, when sisters Nikki, Sami, and Tori Knotek hear the word mom, it claws like an eagle’s talons, triggering memories that have been their secret since childhood. Until now. For years, behind the closed doors of their farmhouse in Raymond, Washington, their sadistic mother, Shelly, subjected her girls to unimaginable abuse, degradation, torture, and psychic terrors. Through it all, Nikki, Sami, and Tori developed a defiant bond that made them far less vulnerable than Shelly imagined.

A good listen for sure! I was surprised, thought I had it all figured out and it was going to be one of those obvious psychological thrillers, but I was wrong!! Very wrong!

It seemed like it was going to be much like the last few books by the same Author but it did start to twist a little about half way through. There were a few surprises but I do wonder why I didn’t expect at least one of them lol not sure if I am just dingy or it was hidden well:) The main issue I had is that the female characters that are dealing with the crazy past tumbling into their future (which is always a secret until years later) seem so flighty, like no common sense. Maybe it’s a British thing but I was raised by a British stepmonster and she was anything but flighty lol! I will continue to read this Author because I do like her style:)

Loved the story!!!!
Revisado: 08-03-19
But I wish there was a little more to the ending. While I liked the fact that the end left out some information so we could figure out some of the answers on our own. The clues started coming together and were verified as true so some of the answers were obvious .I still feel like a few things weren’t verified...It may be me though, I could have missed something while listening. Finding your place after falling asleep without the auto off setting turned on makes it a pain to pick up where u left off when you fell asleep lol.
Besides that I will definitely be recommending this book! Despite my comments above this book was a REALLY good read! I found out that I was right about some things but there were a few twists that I didn’t expect! I am going to suffer from withdraw from finishing this one for sure, I will be thinking about it and wishing it hadn’t ended for a few days lol.I am going to look into more new Karen White right now as a matter of fact:) Love her!!!

At first I liked the book but about 3/4 of the way thru it started to get silly and unrealistic. I almost stopped listening but I forged on until the end...I wish I could give a better review but I can’t, it was disappointing:(

Good story - a little back and forth though
Revisado: 07-12-18
I really liked the idea of this book but found it a little difficult to listen to. I generally don't do well with stories that go back and forth between the past and present when several characters are involved. Like I said it is a good story, would have preferred if it was streamline a little better. I would reccomend to others as the issue I stated is more of a preference not a judgement on the story itself.

Good read, however.......
Revisado: 04-25-18
Not a lot of descriptive words about surroundings, clothing, thoughts etc. I don't care for books that go into too much detail about the environment around them. Anyway, I love any book that is a fast paced read like this book. It had twists and turns as well as a surprise or two, I was really liking it, until the end!!!! I was waiting for another chapter:( Something is missing, why did it judt end?? I don't regret reading it but the ending cost the author a star which is why I gave 3 stars instead of 4. Sorry:(
