Historia
Since she was nine years old, Alina Dziak knew she would marry her best friend, Tomasz. Now 15 and engaged, Alina is unconcerned by reports of Nazi soldiers at the Polish border, believing her neighbors that they pose no real threat, and dreams instead of the day Tomasz returns from college in Warsaw so they can be married. But little by little, injustice by brutal injustice, the Nazi occupation takes hold, and Alina’s tiny rural village, its families, are divided by fear and hate. Then, as the fabric of their lives is slowly picked apart, Tomasz disappears.

Touching

It took me a minute to GET INTO IT fully. One I did I couldn’t but stop listening. I loved the storyline but I’ve been on a WWII kick lately.

I’ll admit it was hard getting through the last book. But the ending was great, glad I pushed through!

Women can be heroes. When twenty-year-old nursing student Frances “Frankie” McGrath hears these words, it is a revelation. Raised in the sun-drenched, idyllic world of Southern California and sheltered by her conservative parents, she has always prided herself on doing the right thing. Thank you for shedding a light on something I never thought about
Revisado: 03-13-24
I have men in my family that served in Vietnam. It never occurred to me that women served during Vietnam also. Unfortunately it’s still not talked about enough. This book captured me from the beginning and I could not put it down. To all the men AND women that have served: THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!!
