Historia
War and Peace is one of the greatest monuments in world literature. Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Napoleonic Wars, it examines the relationship between the individual and the relentless march of history. Here are the universal themes of love and hate, ambition and despair, youth and age, expressed with a swirling vitality which makes the book as accessible today as it was when it was first published in 1869.

intolerable narrating very confusing story
Revisado: 01-12-10
The reader with his heavy British accent, fast reading, imitating character's voice in a very amateur way, is makes you to turn off your ipod. The story is drenching in overcomplexity, new characters purring in from all over in first 5 chapters and make it impossible to follow whose who or to leave room to breath and get attache to one. Trying really hard but just couldn't finish it.

Great Ending astounishing Reading
Revisado: 01-12-10
This is when a narrator can give himself the right to perform; when he/she is a professional performer. For most part of the time what turns me off in an audio book, is the reader, either with heavy British accent, or worse those who trying to imitate the voice of the character, to a woman or a child, etc. Also those who read fast. I believe all narrators must listen to this book and learn from Jeremy Iron.

Historia
Fyodor Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment is universally regarded as one of literature's finest achievements, as the great Russian novelist explores the inner workings of a troubled intellectual. Raskolnikov, a nihilistic young man in the midst of a spiritual crisis, makes the fateful decision to murder a cruel pawnbroker, justifying his actions by relying on science and reason, and creating his own morality system. Dehumanized yet sympathetic, exhausted yet hopeful, Raskolnikov represents the best and worst elements of modern intellectualism. The aftermath of his crime and Petrovich's murder investigation result in an utterly compelling, truly unforgettable cat-and-mouse game. This stunning dramatization of Dostoevsky's magnum opus brings the slums of St. Petersburg and the demons of Raskolnikov's tortured mind vividly to life.

This is the best reading that they have. He is consistence, he dose not try to over perform, and above all he don't ruin the character's dialogue in some lousy attempt to change his voice as a female character. I went through the whole book.

Historia
This magnificent novel is about the murder of a miserly, aged pawnbroker and her younger sister by a radical, destitute St. Petersburg student named Raskolnikov, and the emotional, mental, and physical effects that follow. It is a remarkable masterpiece about a man's turbulent inner life and his relationship to others and to society at large. Dostoevsky explored the human condition on many levels in this great piece, and among the main themes the novel explores is the rather strange theory that criminals have a spiritual need to be punished - that indeed they demand it.

Don't get fool by the sample, the reading it dose good when he read the acts, but when it comes to the dialogues, he begin to over perform, and the worse when he try to change his voice as a female character, a total disaster in reading and make it impossible and very unpleasant to listen, i switch to another version.

Historia
Often called the greatest novel ever written, War and Peace is at once an epic of the Napoleonic wars, a philosophical study, and a celebration of the Russian spirit. Tolstoy's genius is clearly seen in the multitude of characters in this massive chronicle, all of them fully realized and equally memorable.

The narrating ruin the novel. Heavy British accent, poor articulation, horrible melody and very fast reading. At chapter 3 I developed a headache.

Historia
Voltaire's razor-sharp satire on philosophical optimism, Candide, is coupled here with another of the author's most celebrated works, Zadig. Both challenge the moral and philosophical orthodoxies of the day with humor and sly wit, while parodying the clichéd formulas of so many contemporary novels.
