This audiobook was such a great listen. It’s a woman telling her daughter (and son) stories of her life. They are captivating stories and the author is a similar age to me so a lot of the stories really resonated with my growing up. Each of the chapter stories had a morale lesson to learn for her kids. But really they are valuable for anyone. Overall a feel good book that also gets you to look at yourself in the mirror and decide who we want to be moving forward and that we have the power and control to do anything we want and to not let society tell us what that is. Does a great job at breaking down societies body image issues, which we need more of these days. Very inspirational.

I thought it was great that this audiobook starts right off the bat with quizzes to figure out your communication style, biases and triggers. Learning how our minds works in these areas helps us know how to communicate better with others. I loved the chapter teaching how to set SMART goals and how to be clear and precise when constructing a new conversation. It also touches on choosing the right time and place, which can make all the difference when having tough convos. I found this very helpful. This book also gives great advice on practicing emotional regulation, which obviously will be super helpful when needing to have hard conversations, so you can stay in control when emotions run high.

as a person with social anxiety, I found this book to be very helpful with its encouragement to identify the social triggers that impede me in social environments. It also teaches valuable activities on how to practice conversations with friends and family members so that when you are in the position to have these conversations with strangers, you will be ready. One of the main themes throughout the book that I found very helpful was the fact that you need to be your authentic self with people and go into conversations with a curious and open mindset, so you’re actually engaging in conversation and not just putting on a performance of what you think you should be doing. I found that so useful because when you suffer from social anxiety, it’s easy to get overwhelmed, but if you are tackling new conversations with genuine effort and an open mind, things will fall into place more easily. I also really resonated with the chapter on nonverbal communication. You learn all about things like appropriate eye contact, body language and posture, and what it may convey. Being an introverted person, I appreciated that I could practice these things on my own with no one watching and gain confidence on learning how to do these things in a public setting.

This audiobook is for any woman looking to make some positive changes in her life, especially in regards to self love and empowerment. There are several interactive elements throughout encouraging action to the things being spoken about. Things like writing in your journal, attending workshops and creating a peaceful space for practicing mindfulness. There’s a section that teaches several different types of breathing exercises, which I enjoyed trying out to accompany my mindfulness. There’s a great chapter on “self care” which I think is powerful. We are busy busy woman these days stressed to the max, so being encouraged to practice self care felt very validating. It also advocates for the importance of finding your tribe and supportive network.

With spring on the way I was looking to listen to a book on gardening that could teach me about sustainability, eco-friendly methods and figure out what exactly “permaculture” is. This book stood out to me because I liked that the title highlighted all of these things. Throughout the book there are lots of hands on activities to do, to help you learn these techniques. Many of which are DIY…. Which was something else I was looking for. It’s so fun to learn self reliance through gardening, and this book really helped me understand how to do that. The water harvesting chapter was very helpful. And it also feels good to know the small things I’m doing for my own home (things learned in this book) also supports bigger change world wide.

This audio book is a great resource for adults who have ADHD. I really enjoyed all the different examples of people’s experiences with ADHD. It showed that ADHD presents itself in everyone a little differently so it was good to showcase all the possibilities and see what I related to and what I didn’t. I enjoyed learning about the pomodoro technique about time management, can’t wait to implement that one into my life! “Brain dumps” is another fun technique mentioned that will help you organize your thoughts and tasks that seems like it could really benefit my life as well. Really this book is full of helpful tips and tricks to make life easier, more organized and more functional.

This audiobook is largely about learning great techniques and habits to improve time management and productivity in your personal and professional life. I really enjoyed the chapter on making new habits by “habit stacking”. It encourages you to go for easy to achieve habits that can be completed even when you are tired or unmotivated. You stack them on top of or in between habits you already have so they will become new habits more easily. There’s also lots of good tips here about making decisions and how to avoid decision fatigue. Very interesting. Overall just a good book about self improvement.

This is a great audiobook about public speaking. The start of the book was fascinating because it discusses the actual psychological and physical side of where the fear of public speaking comes from. I really struggle with public speaking and have all these crazy physical reactions so it was cool to hear that that is actually normal and learn ways to reframe that anxiety in a positive way. There is a section on speaking to a diverse audience and some of the things to keep in mind like researching cultures and being sensitive. I found that very informative. Another helpful tip is to find your “special sauce” or in other words, what makes you unique or standout. Once you figure that out and weave it into your speeches… you become more dynamic and engaging. I thought that was pretty helpful too. So anyways those are just a couple examples of the very helpful tools you will learn by listening to this book to help you become a good public speaker and overcome and deal with your public speaking fears.

To be honest, I’ve always wanted to grow a tomato plant and some beautiful flowers for myself, but I live in a small apartment and didn’t know if it was possible. So I started researching and realized that container gardening is the way to go! So when I saw this audiobook, it was a no-brainer to give it a listen. BecauseI had no idea where to begin. I learned a lot by listening to this book. It gave so many great, helpful, hints, and tips on all the basics like what kind of gardening tools you need, which containers to select for your space, and how to properly water your plants. I was extremely intrigued by the section on vertical gardening. I didn’t know I could maximize the space on my balcony, but after learning about vertical gardens, I’m excited to give it a go! This book got me all hyped up to start trying some fun DIY garden ideas. I works definitely recommend this book to a beginner.

This is a great audiobook for teenagers who might need a lil boost in the self confidence category. It’s put together in an easy to understand format, going through different emotional things a teen might encounter in their everyday lives and gives advice and tools to come out of these situations feeling empowered. It touches on very common issues like anxiety, confidence, self esteem, communication, relationships, and so much more! Having your child or someone you mentor listen to this book will likely help them build the skills they need to feel confident with their personal identity and life in general. Definitely worth a listen.
