Historia
When Marine Corps pilot Jacob Merely crashes during a routine mission off the coast of Cyprus, he was sure it was game over. After surviving the crash and pulling himself onto the sandy shores of a long-abandoned island, however, Jacob unwittingly stumbles headfirst into the ancient ruins of a dead city. Unfortunately, he also stumbles into an age-old battle between good and evil - and he is now its newest recruit. The island once belonged to the Amazons, but Jacob’s arrival has awakened the old gods and disturbed the seal holding the ravaging darkness at bay.

Meh.
Revisado: 03-07-18
My biggest complaint is the use of slang. And despite what people say the main character does not act 16. He acts like he's a 48 year old ex surfer dude trying to sound like he's still 16.
Seriously, I only hear people talk like that in 80's movies. Who still says "my dude" every other sentence un-ironically anymore?
Really liked the narrator though, never heard of him before and I was thought he was good, despite his seemingly limited range when it came to female voices. But with a voice like that you can't really fault the guy.

Exceedingly Average...
Revisado: 01-09-18
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No. Absolutely nothing about this book stands out. It's almost impressive how utterly average it is.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
I would have liked a bit more conflict. Everything just goes so smoothly and so quickly it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth, and I like light hearted stories, but this just feels.. hollow.
What aspect of Peter Kenny’s performance would you have changed?
He was fine. Not a huge variety of voices though.
Do you think The Memory Stone needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Yes but I don't think I would read it.
Any additional comments?
I think the reason I dislike this book the most is because it was so close to being good but the characters just fall flat for me at every opportunity and the story feels spread thin people just keep showing up developing and then vanishing forever. I never feel like the main character or anyone around him is in any real danger either, you know a magic voice is just going to give him everything he needs or he will just conveniently know something.

Well that was a thing..
Revisado: 01-04-18
What did you like best about Morningwood: Everybody Loves Large Chests (Vol.1)? What did you like least?
It was definitely good for a laugh or two but I honestly found it more disturbing than anything.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
I don't think I could change it to my liking without defeating the purpose of the book. It just personally wasn't my thing.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
No complaints. Jeff Hays is the best.
Could you see Morningwood: Everybody Loves Large Chests (Vol.1) being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
God no.
Any additional comments?
There's a lot of death and gore and a main character that has absolutely no humanity, so it is not for the faint of heart. It is somehow still light hearted despite all that and does have its funny moments. But I felt more uncomfortable most of the time rather than amused. I'm not going to say it is bad, but I am very surprised to see it doing so well based on it's themes.

Too much corn and cheese...
Revisado: 09-08-17
What would have made Wanderer's Escape better?
Maybe a little humor and to slow down the progression of relationships.
Would you ever listen to anything by Simon Goodson again?
No. His writing was painfully corny to me. I could not finish this book.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
Tone down the characters emotions and relationships to a level that isn't kinda of creepy.
Any additional comments?
This book is awful. I see why the rest of the series is not on Audible. It's cliche, cheesy, and feels.. Bland. Also the main character got attached to the other two prisoners way too quick. It was so weird.

The hell..?
Revisado: 01-18-17
What would have made Wildest Dreams better?
It would be nice if it didn't promote blatantly abusive and one sided relationships. Was this really written by a woman? Because it seems like it was written by a scorned man. I wouldn't want any young girls to read this book until they've matured into young women, the story is written just well enough that I would fear it would encourage them to pursue abusive relationships and to blame themselves when they are treated badly.
What could Kristen Ashley have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
I am male and I know this wasn't really geared towards me, but this was borderline disturbing to read at times. Finnie should not always be the one in the wrong and the one who needs to change. And he just trapped her in his world without any consideration for what she wanted, which seems unforgivably cruel and selfish to me. I do not understand the point of this story.
What about Tillie Hooper’s performance did you like?
She did fine. No complaints about her
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I would have liked it if Frey was ever held accountable for his behavior and not perceived as perfect or always in the right. I saw a lot of promise in the beginning of this book but it just became clearer and clearer that this was a terrible story with little to no point or moral fiber.
Any additional comments?
This book almost made me believe in censorship.

Too negative...
Revisado: 10-19-16
Would you try another book from Cheryl Matthynssens and/or Zachary Michael?
Maybe. I don't dislike all of the book but sometimes I feel like she just makes bad things happen because she thinks it will make the story better, but it never really adds much and it just got depressing at times. Conflict is good and all but it just seems more and more bad things happen to the main character while the main storyline hardly progresses at all. I was disappointed that it took him 3 books to accomplish anything worth note and it was not satisfying at all after all that build up and planning, and the death at the end just felt premature, I kinda figured it would happen at some point but not so pitifully.
What do you think your next listen will be?
I think I'll read something a little more light-hearted.
What aspect of Zachary Michael’s performance would you have changed?
He seemed a bit bland to me. He would also pronounce certain words strangely and seemed to struggle maintaining an accent sometimes.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
No.. I barely enjoyed the book and I can't imagine me liking it better after some crappy director got a hold of it.
Any additional comments?
I think she has a lot of potential as a writer but she needs to work on her pacing.
