A slow start but good finish. Needs better editing
Revisado: 04-22-23
The beginning is a slow buildup and lots of dialog, conversations, and speeches. if you made it to book 9, you know Jason is going to talk at great length about morals and power and inequities.
The action starts about halfway in and keeps getting better. lots of great moments for side characters to shine Clive, Taika, Hump, Belinda.
there are two glaring editing errors in later chapters. One sentence cuts off. "Are we done?" was the narrator talking to the recording booth guy was left in.

Historia
All Max wants is to become a climber and search for his long-lost sister. But citizens aren’t allowed to climb - they aren’t even allowed remotely in the vicinity of the mysterious and magical tower. Plus, even if citizens could enter, it didn’t change the fact that Max’s body is paralyzed from the waist down, confined to a wheelchair. No way would anyone let him enter the tower. Ever.

Good but has a few small annoying issues.
Revisado: 10-12-22
I overall enjoyed this book. But there are two things that are offputting.
#1 One reoccurring side character doesnt seem to have an official name, just a title. "Instructor"
Spoilers below:
#2 The main character Max hides his trait from almost everyone even his best friend. But later he shows how he can use powers from others and no one is shocked or surprised or even questions it. Unless I am mistaken they never went over how his powers work with his best friend and she just doesn't seem phased when he is usung multiple powers from other people. Not even a throwaway line like: "I figured out your powers ages ago" It's a small thing but it sticks out.

Historia
The Dark Legion have been beaten back, and for the first time, the brothers are allied against the savagery that the UnderVerse has thrown at them, but the storm clouds of war are gathering, and not everyone will see the sun rise again. Jax has one chance to keep his people safe from the storm and the war that's building on the horizon, but it'll take balls of steel, brains of mince—and he's really going to need to be lucky as hell to pull this one off. The Legion rises along with their Scion, buoyed aloft on waves of hope, but not all are as dedicated as they may seem.

Talk about a fumble at the 1 yard line.
Revisado: 05-16-22
Without spoiling anything, loved the book but the last few minutes of the epilog... blah! How boring! It's the kind of trope where you roll your eyes so hard they actually start to hurt.
I literally paused before and said "Oh shit X is going to happen..." now normally if i can predict what will happen in a book its kinda fun, it means i picked up on the foreshadowing or something. but this was the opposite. still liked the book just a sour note to end on. I'll still be reading the next one.

Historia
Dungeon Walkers brave the depths of the dungeons for personal gain - clearing a dungeon means dungeon points to purchase gear with, but more importantly, perks. Perks are the main reason Walkers put their lives on the line. Every time a dungeon is cleared the first time, a Walker gets a choice of three perks that could change their lives. Not every Walker makes it out alive. When someone dies in the dungeon, their soul is fragmented into four shards, which can be purchased for dungeon points.

Not bad but
Revisado: 03-04-22
the majority of the book is pretty good but the amount of romance and sex scenes crammed into the last bit of the book seems like an afterthought/forced and gratuitous. I found myself skipping through looking for any sort of dialogue or action that wasn't sex scene or reminiscing about the sex scene just happened. Don't get me wrong the first few were fine it was just getting old after a while.

It starts SO STRONG!
Revisado: 01-16-22
Jake's magical Market starts so strong that i cant give it less than a 4 star. but about halfway through it starts to falter it goes up and down but never hits the same height it started at.
it goes in directions that i don't particularly like and then when things seem like they are getting back on track it has another downturn and then ends abruptly.
I'm still interested in seeing the next book, but I am feeling cautious.

It was just supposed to be a quick trip to the pet store for some cat food, but the universe had other plans for Florence Valentine. Good for nothing kids and some annoying store employees were giving her a hard time, and then things got worse when she was killed by a delivery truck. Instead of angels, pearly gates, and eternal rewards, a voice in her head keeps telling her that she’s become a dungeon core, whatever that is.

A Great book held back by editing
Revisado: 08-16-21
This is a great dungeon book held back only by the mighty need of a continuity editor. far too often I found myself thinking "Didn't they just say this in the last chapter? Are they repeating themselves just with slightly different language?" at other times things happened slightly out of order the characters reference something that doesn't occur until a little bit later.
