Absolutely a fun afternoon listening to this book. No one writes about the Darcy. It’s like Pamela Aiden.

In a sleepy village in the Shire, a young hobbit is entrusted with an immense task. He must make a perilous journey across Middle-earth to the Cracks of Doom, there to destroy the Ruling Ring of Power - the only thing that prevents the Dark Lord Sauron’s evil dominion. Beyond expectations!
Revisado: 09-14-23
I have been reading token since I was a kid. I’ve enjoyed the movies and have revisited the story every two or three years. But I am absolutely amazed. By the way, Andy Serkis was able to transport me right into the world of the fellowship! Not only was it the best token I had ever listened to, it was the best audiobook as well that I have ever listen to! I just finished this one, and will start the second one this afternoon. It was marvelous!!

Deep down here by the dark water lived old Gollum, a small slimy creature. I don’t know where he came from, nor who or what he was. He was Gollum—as dark as darkness, except for two big round pale eyes in his thin face. He had a little boat, and he rowed about quite quietly on the lake; for lake it was, wide and deep and deadly cold.

Revisado: 06-12-23
After several readings of the hobbit in my life, this was the first time that I’d listen to it in an audiobook. It was perfection itself!! Andy Serkis was wonderful. One of the best audiobooks I’d ever listen to, and will again.

Historia
In The Wisdom of the Shire, Noble Smith sheds light on the life-changing ideas tucked away inside the classic works of J. R. R. Tolkien and his most beloved creation—the stouthearted Hobbits. Drawing on The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and other tales of Middle-earth, Smith shows how a snug hobbit-hole is actually just a state of mind and how even the smallest person can have the valor of a Rider of Rohan.

Whenever I feel frazzled!
Revisado: 10-14-22
I listen to this book on audible, and I’m so glad that I got to hear the narrators voice rather than turning the pages. It was coming in beautiful to listen to. But the Contant reminded me every time I turned on, that a calmer simple life Is what I want to pass on to my grand children, by telling stories, eating great food that we have cooked ourselves, and working on growing it ourselves as well. Basically, I loved the book.

Historia
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

Enchanting!
Revisado: 09-20-22
It’s hard to believe that I could find a fairytale in my adult life and so late in life, that would entertain me as much as the ones did when I was a kid. I was absolutely entranced by this book, and it will get plenty of uses I take it out through the years and listen to it again. I can only hope for a movie. Thanks again for your amazing imagination and writing.

Excellent story
Revisado: 09-15-21
I just started listening to this story on a whim-not my typical read. But it drew me in, and there was literally no choice but to listen until the end. And where the end left me hoping there’s another book, I didn’t try this one. For a story such as this the writing was quite good,And like I said kept me entranced. Without spooking me out completely.😉

Every woman wants to be Elizabeth Bennet Darcy - beautiful, gracious, universally admired, strong, daring and outspoken - a thoroughly modern woman in crinolines. And every woman will fall madly in love with Mr. Darcy - tall, dark and handsome, a nobleman and a heartthrob whose virility is matched only by his utter devotion to his wife. Engaging and romantic.
Revisado: 05-03-19
I read Mr. Darcy takes a wife several years ago. The added engagement and romanticism and fun to the Jane Austen story of pride and prejudice was great. For those of us that love this type of follow up, This is one of the best I have read. And as I always think that the actor or actress has so much to do with the enjoyment of the book, this actress was wonderful.
