Jonna Mendez’s memoir is an exciting and inspiring tale of a life in the secret and all-consuming world of the CIA. But, even more powerful and important is a profoundly telling lesson on the sadly often misogynisticly ignored potential in half of the human race. Despite the disparaging and damaging words and actions directed toward women by the current executive branch, Jonna and Tony Mendez’s lives demonstrate the incredible strength and wisdom of those many women who walk beside us men as equal and sometimes superior partners.

An Incredible Addition to the Ripper Legends

The drama never ceases. You are grabbed by the story, and it is nearly impossible to pause in your reading and listening. (Yes, and be sure to get the audiobook.). The personalities are expertly defined, and you get the feeling that you really know the characters. Oh, and there are parts that are scary as hell.

The Good, the Bad, and Alfred Dreyfus

A magnificent insight by Robert Harris into a dark and moldy part of history. It is amazing to me that hatred for the Jews should have lasted for over 2000 years. Homo sapiens has produced such brilliant insights into the nature of the universe and in our own world. No other animal has gained such power over the Earth. Yet, for all the good we have accomplished, we have also brought so much cruelty and pain to ourselves and all other life. Robert Harris has given us Aa sobering view into a dark episode of our recent history. Irrational, unreasoned violence against our fellow human beings reduce ourselves to instinct-driven, cannibalistic predators.

Thanks to Robert Harris for giving us an understanding into the good and bad in all of us. The evil in the 19th Century French military still resides in all of us. The good that resided in all of the men and women who supported Alfred Dreyfus can be ours, too.

A Greater Murder Mystery & More

All the characters were well-defined. The mystery was tricky and kept you guessing. In some ways it was a morality play. You got to look into the eyes of people who seemed real somehow. The audiobook version was read by a professional who really knew how to add to a story. I was very well-satisfied with the hours I spent reading and listening to this tale.

An Adventure in Time and Love.

One of the best time travel yarns I’ve ever read. The characters are well defined and either very likable or very unlikable. The paradoxes of time travel are cleverly used and keep you guessing. Go ahead! Read and listen to it. It will be worth your time.
