Historia
Until the 1970s, if you suffered a medical crisis, your chances of survival were minimal. A 9-1-1 call might bring police or even the local funeral home. But that all changed with Freedom House EMS in Pittsburgh, a group of Black men who became America’s first paramedics and set the gold standard for emergency medicine around the world, only to have their story and their legacy erased—until now.

I’m so amazed by this book and the stories it tells. It a whole new world for this old white middle class woman. So glad to find this book. I heard about it on a podcast and wanted to get it for a friend, so I ordered a hard copy book and got an audiobook of the story for myself. What a great story. Thanks much

Historia
The Decade of Obama (2007-2017) was one of massive change that rewrote the rules of politics in ways we are only now beginning to understand (which is why we all got 2016 wrong). Yes We (Still) Can looks at how Obama navigated the forces that allowed Trump to win the White House to become one of the most consequential presidents in American history, why Trump surprised everyone, and how Democrats can come out on top in the long run.

The focus is on the explosive debates and the decision-making in the Oval Office, the Situation Room, Air Force One, and the White House residence.

Revisado: 09-14-18
Great book by a respected two time Pulitzer Prize recipient about criminals in Washington and specifically in the West Wing. These are dangerous times, let me say again DANGEROUS times. Thanks Mr. Woodward. You have served this country for a long, long time. Watergate was my entrance into politics. Thank you for that too. A fan.

In the face of a president who lobs accusations without facts, evidence, or logic, truth tellers are under attack. Meanwhile, the world order is teetering on the brink. North Korea is on the verge of having a nuclear weapon that could reach all of the United States, Russians have mastered a new form of information warfare that undercuts democracy, and the role of China in the global community remains unclear.

We elected a monster for president and I hope we survive. I thank Mr. Hayden for his book and for reading it himself. His thoughts and background, width, and expanse of his knowledge are a national treasure. I hope we make through this administration crisis and crime. There is no prison deep or dark enough for Trump.

I’m not a scientist, but I am a registered nurse. Even so, not always easy to understand everything presented, but I enjoyed the book very much. Listen to the book, just continue through any difficult parts, because you will still understand the presentation overall. You will likely enjoy it as I have enjoyed myself.

Whether they really help callers fix their transmissions is an open question, but the Car Talk guys certainly know how to transfix their listeners.

You are both such gifted artists and I am very grateful to you both. I’m good with an alphabet of 25, I see no loss in that, only gratitude. I have long been disabled and sometimes depression wears on me, but for decades it has been audiobooks that are the surest medicine with only beneficial effects. (Of-course anti-depressants are necessary too). Sometime in the future, sooner rather than later I will start this series again. See you all then. PEACE.

Sixteen-year-old Starr Carter moves between two worlds: the poor neighborhood where she lives and the fancy suburban prep school she attends. The uneasy balance between these worlds is shattered when Starr witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend Khalil at the hands of a police officer. Khalil was unarmed. Soon afterward, his death is a national headline. Some are calling him a thug, maybe even a drug dealer and a gangbanger. Protesters are taking to the streets in Khalil’s name.

Learned a lot, have a lot to learn. Excellent book, excellent narration, I think I will just start the book over and read again.
Many people need to read this book and others like this book. Things NEED to change in America or America will never be a great nation. We are not great yet, no matter the common and popular belief. America will never be great while people of color, poor, disabled, the mentally ill and all the people that have been hated are ignored by the engine of powers that drive hate. Please, please stop, just stop being stupid white people and learn how to live with all people. I’m ashamed of my race, always have been, probably always will be ashamed of my white race. Come on people,,,,
