Historia
When Una Chin-Riley and Christopher Pike meet at Starfleet Academy after one of his lectures, they immediately become friends. A stellar student, Una is the “poster girl” of her class, and Pike is determined to become a Starfleet captain with his own ship, rhetorically assembling his dream crew. As their friendship evolves, Pike also suspects Una is involved with the Euxhana, a Chionian cultural minority, who are seeking asylum in Federation space, leading to more questions than answers.

I enjoyed learning more about Una and Pike’s development as working partners. I hope next season of Strange New Worlds delves a bit into their past like this book did. Excellent narration.

Historia
There’s a story about Rich Paul that everyone knows: A twenty-one-year-old kid from Cleveland who sells sports jerseys out of his car meets a high school basketball phenom named LeBron James at an airport—the two become friends and forge a decades-long partnership that reinvents the business of sports. That random meeting might seem like the lucky break that changed Paul’s life. But a moment of good fortune means nothing without the struggle that gets you there. And the truth is, Paul had always been lucky.

We all have a story worth hearing
Revisado: 11-26-23
I enjoyed and was also touched by this story. There are lots of lessons in here for fathers and mothers who want the best for their children and do their best for them. It’s also a gambler’s story with a cautionary tale. Enjoy and support this Executive who knows the struggle.

Historia
Ida Pederson was an executive at ‘Nyberg Shoreline’ when she was sent to the small Northern Irish village of Port Kriel to diffuse tensions between the company and the local community. When an unexploded bomb was identified on the seabed near Nyberg’s windfarm, Ida sent a local crew of eight men to investigate. That night, only two men returned home, barely alive and unable to speak of what had happened out at sea.

Great acting and sound design
Revisado: 09-25-23
I like the actors and the sound effects really helped build the tension in the story. The story line itself was ok, The actual “thing” and it’s motivation should have been developed more.

The ending not satisfying at all. Unless a sequel is made skip this title. They wasted the talent on an unresolved story.

As listeners hear these stories unfurl, Gladwell examines one of the greatest moral challenges in modern American history.
