Th insight to the story and history of the wizard world was a joy.
Revisado: 12-04-24
This book was a ton of fun to listen to, because it dug deep into the ins and outs of the world we have come to love. The explanation and history of wand lore was wonderful. All the history being told made me realize that wizarding world we know through the series was an evolution of exploration. That the methods and content we read about were not always known. The only bad thing I can say about the book is that it had to end.

Delta Force—the US Army’s most elite top-secret strike force. They dominate the modern battlefield, but you won’t hear about their heroics on CNN. No headlines can reveal their top-secret missions, and no book has ever taken readers inside—until now. Here, a founding member of Delta Force takes us behind the veil of secrecy and into the action to reveal the never-before-told story of First Special Forces Operational Detachment-D (Delta Force).

A dutiful retelling of the start of Delta Force
Revisado: 01-05-23
The book is a first hand account of what Delta was like from the start. I know much more about the vigor of Delta, their effectiveness, the damage they can wield, and it can be wielded in terrible ways as well as ways that benefit America.
If you read a lot of first person stories about Special Forces, it’s interesting to see the contrast of the 80’s to now and how a lot of the tactics were first conceived. Great insight to the tales of past historical events.
I didn’t care for the way the narrator voiced people’s statements. It was always the same and it seemed like a cartoon version, which degraded what was being said. I don’t know if it is the narrator’s style or the producer or writer made the choice for him to read peoples quotes like was done in this book. This I think, says a lot about the story. I would have returned the book if it wasn’t. However I finished the book, enjoyed it, and gave it a great review (minus the performance).

Revisado: 12-20-22
The intel (whether real or not) on being grey and anticipating obstacles is second to none. They vivid description brings to life what it is to live his experiences. The trade craft of blending in and being effective is inspirational. Amazing lessons in this book as well as fantastic stories.

A great insight to the events that shaped our war in Afghanistan.
Revisado: 12-12-22
The story can be a bit choppy trying to get everyone’s back stories to set up the tale. Still it was eye opening how effective the war was at its start and could have been if politics and leadership hadn’t impeded the process.

Historia
Tim Kennedy has a problem; he only feels alive right before he’s about to die. Kennedy, a Green Beret, decorated Army sniper, and UFC headliner, has tackled a bull with his bare hands, jumped out of airplanes, dove to the depths of the ocean, and traveled the world hunting poachers, human traffickers, and the Taliban. But he’s also the same man who got kicked out of the police department, fire department, and as an EMT, before getting two women pregnant four days apart, and finally, been beaten up by his Special Forces colleagues.

A collection of stores that tells a story of the man that is Tim Kennedy
Revisado: 08-20-22
This is an interestingly structured book. It is a collection of stories about Tim Kennedy, his life up to date, and impactful stories that has shaped him into the man, soldier, fighter, influencer he is today. He is unapologetic about his successes and his failures. True to the person he is if you ever meet him.
The stories are short (mostly) and are packed with just the relevant information with an elaboration of Tim’s emotions and states of mind. I bought the physical book to read and it was an easy read, but once I heard Tim narrated I had to get the Audible version as well. He did not disappoint. There is nothing quite like listening the book from the author especially one as charismatic as Tim. The stories and emotions hit harder coming from him personally. Especially the stories about his most heart and gut wrenching experiences.
I enjoyed the book immensely. In all the content I have digested on line about Tim, 99% is true to form. I love his brazenness of calling it like it is in war time. There was no disclosure of the book needing to be cleared by DOJ like other books of similar topics. So you could say this book is not one that will give you special insight to the war tactics used by Special Forces. There are also times he tells of exotic stories in bullet point fashion of his experience but those stories are not in the book. I hope there is a sequel to this book that tells those stories. Maybe a “Stars and Snipes” collection of the remaining events he has yet to tell.

Superb! This is one of those books where everything clicks. The amount of practical knowledge that can be taken away from it is beyond measure. Top 10 book on my list. I would love to see a revised addition to include Pete’s follow up on the mission that got UBL. If you don’t read this book you are doing yourself a great disservice.

Revisado: 02-24-20
A captivating story of the grit and ingenuity it takes to be a successful as a business owner. When I first listened to this book I was doing a security analysis paper on Nike for a finance class. It was delightful to have a glimpse into the soul the company down to it’s origins.
The story was equally matched by the performance of Butz. One of the best narrators I have ever heard. The story came alive because of his inflection and timing. To date I’ve listened to this book 3 times.

I bought this to get real knowledge about why I'm obese. Dr. Fung lays out everything in a logical sequence and gives full explanation of how the body functions. If you are looking for that key to how your body functions then listen to this book.
Brian Nishii is the best narrator I have heard. He made what could be a dry subject a joy to listen to. Jung writes it to be somewhat light hearted and Nishii executes it so well.

It is commonly believed that the Great Depression that began in 1929 resulted from a confluence of events beyond any one person's or government's control. In fact, as Liaquat Ahamed reveals, it was the decisions made by a small number of central bankers that were the primary cause of the economic meltdown, the effects of which set the stage for World War II and reverberated for decades.
