Narrator ruined the book for me
Revisado: 05-10-24
The story seemed pretty good starting. But the narration was so bad, I had to stop the book. She sounded like she was in middle school reading a book.

The story was pretty good, but the narrator made it so difficult to listen to. Her voice was a constant whine and pleading. You couldn’t even tell what needed emphasis.

Historia
Her name is Renee Blackbear, but what most people call the 19-year-old Ojibwe woman is Cash. She lived all her life in Fargo, sister city to Minnesota’s Moorhead, just downriver from the Cities. She has one friend, the Sheriff Wheaton. He pulled her from her mother’s wrecked car when she was three. Since then, Cash navigated through foster homes and at 13 was working farms, driving trucks.

Unbelievably boring
Revisado: 01-24-23
I cannot believe how boring this book was. I stayed with it waiting for some thing to happen. There was about 15 to 20 minutes of action, if you want to call it that. The narrators voice was low and soothing but I’m not sure if that made the story better or worse. I’m very happy I did not pay for this book. I only gave the story two stars because it was based on the plight of the native Americans.

Love John Hart
Revisado: 04-25-22
His books are amazing and the narrator is fantastic. This one was hard to stomach. Elena is such an obnoxious person, it took too much away from the book.
She is thrown out there as a loving and good person but in reality all she thinks about is her and making sure that she is the most important person in his life at all costs.
3 was generous And I only gave it because of how much I love John Hart and the narrator

I did not like it
Revisado: 04-01-22
I feel like this book dragged on for about the first 2/3. Then way too much happened. I don’t want to give anything away by saying too much. I also did not care for the narrators voice. I felt like she should be reading a serious love story with her inflections. Everything she said, she seemed to be pleading.
