Historia
In the not-too-distant future, a 21-member crew launches from Earth. Their mission: to establish a temporary colony on Mars. Little do they know that colony will become permanent–and the last stand of the human race. Because, without warning, every single person left on Earth simply...vanishes. Now, a thousand years later, the resources needed to sustain life are running out, and the very existence of the Mars colony is threatened. Humankind has only one option–to return to its home planet.

Intriguing time travel story
Revisado: 09-26-24
Going from the title details I expected a good time travel story with a dash of apocalyptic seasoning, and I got that.
However, the listening experience is badly hindered by shouting, sotto voce whispering, and other vocal effects that were intended for dramatic effect. Even worse is the almost constant background buzz of crowds, engines, and other machinery.
Do you know what it sounds like when characters whisper to each other against a persistent background noise? Like this: pshhh. ..psst...shwish ....pspsss fwisssh

Historia
The Authorized Roy Orbison tells the epic tale of a West Texas boy, drawn to the guitar at age six, whose monumental global career successes were matched at nearly every turn by extraordinary personal tragedies, including the loss of his first wife in a motorcycle accident and his two oldest sons in a fire. It's a story of the intense highs and severe lows that make up the mountain range of Roy Orbison's career, one that touched four decades and ended abruptly at perhaps its highest peak, when he passed away at the age of 52 on December 6, 1988.

Excellent bio but disappointingly short.

I enjoyed this but could have listened to much more. I really liked the way the production worked in snippets of Orbison's music at appropriate places. All musician bio audiobooks should do that!

Historia
When the legendary Frankish king and emperor Charlemagne died in 814 he left behind a dominion and a legacy unlike anything seen in Western Europe since the fall of Rome. Johannes Fried paints a compelling portrait of a devout ruler, a violent time, and a unified kingdom that deepens our understanding of the man often called the father of Europe.

Well told history
Revisado: 10-16-21
This book is well written and well narrated, and I learned a lot about Charlemagne and his times. However, my skin crawled every time the narrator referred to "Aix" instead of Aachen. NOBODY calls it Aix anymore! The city is German. Charlemagne didn't speak French, but most likely something very close to Old Dutch or Old High German. Stop trying to make him French.

Historia
Despite marriage to a millionaire's daughter and success as a vice president of Donaldson's, Inc. - manufacturers of the world-famous Donaldson's Dog-Joy - Freddie Threepwood, Lord Emsworth's younger son, still goes in fear of his aunts when at Blandings Castle. Full Moon tells the story of how he faces them down, while promoting the love of Bill Lister and Prudence Garland. A charming Blandings comedy with a full Wodehouse complement of aunts, pigs, millionaires, colonels, imposters, and dotty earls.

Jonathan Cecil is the best narrator of P.G. Wodehouse I have yet heard on Audible. Highly recommended!

Historia
Who has not come to know and love the impeccable Jeeves and the inimitable Bertie? Together with Lord Emsworth, his prize sow the Empress of Blandings, Psmith, and a whole host of redoubtable Wooster aunts, they form a cast of characters, immortalized in print and on screen, whose sharply observed antics are as popular now as when they first appeared in 1919.

Disappointing.
Revisado: 05-18-21
This book seems to breeze through the author's youth and beginnings as a writer, and is devoid of the humor found in other Wodehouse biographies. The story first two decades of Wodehouse's life were told so briefly that the book had the feeling of an abridged work. So much so, in fact, that I checked to see if it was an abridged production. (It isn't.)
Overall, I do not recommend.
