Historia
Judy is a shy, reserved, frustrated young girl home alone for a week with nothing to do. A magazine article full of “fun ideas” challenges her to cook, sing, dance, and play, while wearing only socks...Judy takes the challenge and soon finds she absolutely loves being naked. Unexpectedly, her best friend returns home early, and rather than bring an end to her fun, her best friend joins her in her new “socks only” lifestyle...leading to the discovery of feelings that the two did not know they had, and days and nights of intimate, passionate, orgasmic fun.

Wonderful Exploration
Revisado: 12-17-24
Cammie Conte and Mia Sloane (narrator) are match made in heaven. This book is excellent for its simplicity - the story is so natural and authentic feeling, that it draws you in superbly. The sex and exhibitionism is exhilarating... a sexy coming-of-age adventure that takes care to celebrate (and not shame) the beauty of exploration and expression.
Looks like Cammie/Mia only have a couple books on Audible currently, which is a shame. If they add any more, I'll be first in line.

Entertaining and engaging from start to finish
Revisado: 02-07-18
Completely original concept and fantastic execution. The Land lovingly tips its hat to the fantasy genre and classic RPG mechanics with hilarious satirical poise. Kong manages to take a silly premise and construct a compelling and engaging narrative around it. I’m hooked.

Five years ago Corin Cadence's brother entered the Serpent Spire - a colossal tower with ever-shifting rooms, traps, and monsters. Those who survive the spire's trials return home with an attunement: a mark granting the bearer magical powers. According to legend, those few who reach the top of the tower will be granted a boon by the spire's goddess. He never returned. Now it's Corin's turn. He's headed to the top floor, on a mission to meet the goddess.

Uninspired
Revisado: 02-06-18
Listened all the way through, but ultimately found it underwhelming. The concept is unique enough, but the writing is fairly juvenile, and it’s full of genre tropes. I felt like Rowe spent so much time and effort trying to develop the mechanics of his universe that he forgot about the characters and plot. There was nothing compelling here for adult readers.
Podehl did a masterful job, as always, but even he couldn’t redeem the source material.

But for Aedan, a scruffy young adventurer with veins full of fire and a head full of ideas, this officer is not what he seems. Enjoyable, but predictable
Revisado: 05-03-16
I enjoyed this story, but many of the biggest twists and turns could be seen from a mile away. The book had a pretty repetitive formula after a while. Boy has a problem, comes up with a crazy plan to overcome it, overcomes it.
It's a sweet story with great narration, but I hope the next books in the series are willing to get a little darker/grittier. This first installment is an epic wrapped in bubble wrap.

I decided to try this book out on a whim because I love Nick Podehl, but the writing is painfully juvenile and utterly without depth. Definitely a book for kids.

Historia
In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue - Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is - she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

Overrated

Do you have any additional comments?
After reading countless extremely positive reviews, I was expecting literary gold, but discovered, much to my disappointment, only bronze. Divergent is simply too predictable, and the protagonist too ignorant, for it to be entirely entertaining. I found myself continually frustrated with the main character for her decidedly annoying bipolarity and seemingly oblivious understanding of the world around her. Too much of the book is spent on tedious romantic relationships, and her perpetual internal struggle to discover her identity. I can generally suspend disbelief quite easily, but this book required leaps I wasn't willing to take. Roth relies heavily on unlikely plot devices to propel the story line. By the end, I was so aggravated by the countless plot holes and ridiculous circumstances, that I could barely enjoy the climax. All that being said, the book has its enjoyable moments. They were just too few and far between.
