The storyline had such promise
Revisado: 12-28-23
This book could have been really cute. The constant swearing and sexual comments was way over the top. It ruined the story. I made it to chapter 10 but couldn’t take it any longer and stopped listening.

Historia
While Eve examines a fresh body in Washington Square Park, her husband, Roarke, spots a man among the onlookers he’s known since his younger days on the streets of Dublin. A man who claims to be his half brother. A man who kills for a living - and who burns with hatred for him. Eve is quick to suspect that the victim’s spouse - resentful over his wife’s affair and poised to inherit her fortune - would have happily paid an assassin to do his dirty work. Roarke is just as quick to warn her that if Lorcan Cobbe is the hitman, she needs to be careful.

A great story that keeps the reader glued to the book. My favorite story in the series.

When she grew up, she went to college and even met a man she thought she'd marry, but Jeff was still in her head. Review of “Secrets”
Revisado: 06-13-21
The Narrators voice just did not fit the story and for me was a distraction. The story had a good plot but was hard to fathom as the voice of the narrator was too sing songish.

Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Too dark for me
Revisado: 05-02-21
Could not wade through the darkness. The storyline was depressing. I gave it a chance to give me a reason to continue. Never happened. I know many loved it but not me.

Historia
London, 2019. Life has been easy for Maxim Trevelyan. With his good looks, aristocratic connections, and money, he’s never had to work, and he’s rarely slept alone. But all that changes when tragedy strikes and Maxim inherits his family’s noble title, wealth, and estates, and all the responsibility that entails. It’s a role he’s not prepared for and one that he struggles to face. But his biggest challenge is fighting his desire for an unexpected, enigmatic young woman who’s recently arrived in England, possessing little more than a dangerous and troublesome past.

The language was overwhelming
Revisado: 07-30-20
I couldn’t get passed the foul language that just did not stop. Maybe it gets better but I couldn’t give it any more time to improve. I wish I could trade back but got it on a deal so can’t.
