Historia
On the little Scottish island of Mure—halfway between Scotland and Norway—Flora MacKenzie and her fiancé Joel are planning the smallest of “sweetheart weddings,” a high summer celebration surrounded only by those very dearest to them. Not everyone on the island is happy about being excluded, though. The temperature rises even further when beautiful Olivia MacDonald—who left Mure ten years ago for bigger and brighter things—returns with a wedding planner in tow.

Love this series!
Revisado: 04-12-25
Just an FYI on this series. Audible shows there are 2 more books in this series; #6-Summer Skies, and #7-Close Knit! They are not part of this community of characters, most of us have come to love!!! I purchased both books, and returned them, and contacted Audible. I'm awaiting their response.
I looked the series up on Goodreads as well, because after finishing book #5, Island Wedding I sooooo wanted the Mure Island Series to continue. Goodreads only shows 5 books, not a 6th or 7th.

Historia
Leigh Collier has worked hard to build what looks like a normal life. She has a good job as a defense attorney, a daughter doing well in school, and even her divorce is relatively civilized - her life is just as unremarkable as she’d always hoped it would be. But Leigh’s ordinary life masks a childhood that was far from average...a childhood tarnished by secrets, broken by betrayal, and finally torn apart by a devastating act of violence.

WHAT A RIDE!!!
Revisado: 03-01-24
Really loved this book. The characters, story, pace was wild.
so many twists and turns...WOW There are several gruesome parts ; anger, violence, and abuse. However, at the core beautiful sibling love, and a sweet, touching friendship.
I could not stop listening! the narration was outstanding, and I'm officially a fan of Karin Slaughter.

Harriet and Wyn have been the perfect couple since they met in college—they go together like salt and pepper, honey and tea, lobster and rolls. Except, now—for reasons they’re still not discussing—they don’t. They broke up five months ago. And still haven’t told their best friends.

Returned without finishing.
Revisado: 06-22-23
I returned this book! I was half way through and just did not see the point of finishing. I ABSOLUTELY love the narrator, Julia Whelan, but even her incredible talents couldn't propel me to finish this book!!! It went nowhere? I do not understand all the "critical acclaim" this book has garnered, so I finally listened to my gut. When you know, you know.

WOWOW.... What a Ride!
Revisado: 05-28-23
Marin Ireland is FLAWLESS! This is a gripping, disturbing, and at its core a heartbreaking story, and her narration delivered every emotion with perfection.
I enjoyed this book, which seems hard to explain without hinting at spoilers which I will not do. It will make you question what you know, you know; it is an emotionally conflicted ride of fear, uncertainty, anger, grief, failure, and sadness all at the same time.
I will not soon forget this book.

So disappointing 😞
Revisado: 04-16-22
The narration was the best part of this book. The story started out fast and furious grabbed right out of the gate but it didn't last, did not deliver the ride or ending i kept waiting for. Lots of affected sex. that was strained and didn't advance the story .
The ending was awful...left me feeling short changed a cheated. I was very disappointed.

In this searing memoir, Congressman Jamie Raskin tells the story of the forty-five days at the start of 2021 that permanently changed his life—and his family’s—as he confronted the painful loss of his son to suicide, lived through the violent insurrection in our nation’s Capitol, and led the impeachment effort to hold President Trump accountable for inciting the political violence.

Historia
Seth Hubbard is a wealthy man dying of lung cancer. He trusts no one. Before he hangs himself from a sycamore tree, Hubbard leaves a new, handwritten, will. It is an act that drags his adult children, his Black maid, and Jake into a conflict as riveting and dramatic as the murder trial that made Brigance one of Ford County's most notorious citizens, just three years earlier. The second will raises far more questions than it answers. Why would Hubbard leave nearly all of his fortune to his maid? Had chemotherapy and painkillers affected his ability to think clearly?

The Four Winds blew me away, I was transported.
Revisado: 03-08-21
Move over dear Nightengale, Kristin Hannah's newest gift, The Four Winds carried me away, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED this book! Bravo! Kristin Hannah is the consummate storyteller, and this novel is a perfect work of historical fiction to remind us where we've been, and what we can accomplish when we find our voice. It will say with me forever. Julia Whelan gaves a master class with her performance. She literally breathes life into all the unforgettable characters, so much so that at times I felt like I was watching a movie in my head. Hannah's story & characters are ripe with detail, strength, emotion, heart, courage, but tempered with just the right amount nuance. This is a journey I never wanted to end!!!!
