the Harry Hole fans (I am definitely one) that panned this book were unfair. the middle gets fairly cliche, but the story holds. the reading is expert. you have to allow authors to breath.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I recommend this book only to find out what happens - listen while jogging, so you won;t mind the parts that are just gory and dragged out.
Would you be willing to try another book from George R. R. Martin? Why or why not?
I still want to get to the rest of the story. Less words and more feeling please .R.R. Some of the action and characters are moving along splendidly, and there is great anticipation for some of their successes (So much anguish, here). I get that the times are difficult and trying for the masses. This was the 5th long long book. I think we get it. Let's resolve.
How could the performance have been better?
the voices were horrible and screechy
Could you see A Dance with Dragons being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
the game of thrones series is doing fine, although I would like them to change a little less.
Any additional comments?
more care is needed for the voices for the narration. The females sound horrible. The men all sound like they gargle with rocks.
