There’s always a twist I don’t see coming in these books! Just love the characters and story lines. The narrator is very good. Love her voice and characters

Narrator Nightmare

Have to quit this series. The narrator’s voices especially for the women make me cringe. Not sure what Kassia’s voice was supposed to be but sounded like a whiney sullen little kid with an occasional attempt to sound French. First book by same narrator was terrible but thought I’d give her a second chance. Just can’t do it any more.

I was so excited when Darcy announced out of the blue that we were flying to Kenya for our extended honeymoon. Now that we are here, I suspect he has actually been sent to fulfill another secret mission. I am trying very hard not to pick a fight about it, because after all, we are in paradise! Darcy finally confides that there have been robberies in London and Paris. It seems the thief was a member of the aristocracy and may have fled to Kenya. Since we are staying in the Happy Valley, we are well positioned to hunt for clues and ferret out possible suspects.

Not as good as others in the series

The overall story line wasn’t as compelling as others in this series but the narration was like nails on a chalkboard at times. The men seemed to be all whiny and nasally where the women were all sultry and breathy. Sometimes the reading was very choppy. I almost quit listening to it but kept on thinking it’d get better. It didn’t. I love this series but this wasn’t one of the better ones

One of my favorite authors . Every time I think I have it all figured out there’s a twist. Didn’t fail me again! Love the way she does plots. Also a great narration on the audio book!
