Sappy heroine but entertaining . I hate the conclusions that Maddie comes up with in her personal life. But the lack of overt violence is good. Would read more.

Good plot overall. A “cozy” murder story. Like everything except the musings of the lead character. Kind of ditzy

The dialogue was too sappy. I skipped from the middle to the last chapter, just because.

My Third Read
Revisado: 06-23-23
Ok so I am reading the series in spite of it’s shortcomings. I like lighter reading in my old age so there’s that. I am still annoyed by the immature thought processes of our heroine and so so narration but, I’ll continue to listen to the rest of the books.

Light Reading

Good narration, story was pretty good. I’m waiting for a heroine in one of these books not to think like a 10th grader. That kind of annoys me, but I’m just looking for light entertainment and this delivered

Historia
Hannah has felt as bitter as November in Minnesota since Ross vanished without a trace and left their marriage in limbo. Still, she throws herself into a baking frenzy for the sake of pumpkin pie and Thanksgiving-themed treats while endless holiday orders pour into The Cookie Jar. Hannah even introduces a raspberry Danish pastry to the menu, and P.K., her husband's assistant at KCOW-TV, will be one of the first to sample it. But instead of taking a bite, P.K., who is driving Ross's car and using his desk at work, is murdered. Was someone plotting against P.K. all along or did Ross dodge a deadly dose of sweet revenge?

I haven’t listened to an Audible original that didn’t disappoint. This is no exception loose ends, bad ending. Good narration. Story was okay until the end. No closure, innocent person in jail. Not my type of story.

Historia
On an island off the coast of Ireland, guests gather to celebrate two people joining their lives together as one. The groom: handsome and charming, a rising television star. The bride: smart and ambitious, a magazine publisher. It’s a wedding for a magazine or for a celebrity: the designer dress, the remote location, the luxe party favors, the boutique whiskey. The cell phone service may be spotty and the waves may be rough, but every detail has been expertly planned and will be expertly executed.
