This story felt awkwardly written to me. I didn't feel any attraction between the two of them, which was kind of to be expected for an "arrangement", but there was no transition to their first time together. Holly deciding about the proposal took more time than their first two months together. Where was the sexual tension? The best part of a romance story was practically skipped right over. I felt like I was riding in a car with someone learning to drive a stick-shift for the first time. So, maybe just not my style. The narrator did a good job.

I love menage stories. I don't expect a lot from them and they are usually quick reads.

The author came up with a great plot and great characters, and then it all fell apart for me. The writing, particularly the dialogue, felt unnatural and contrived. There were so many weak spots I stopped trying to take it seriously. I liked the idea, but it just did not deliver.

I'll give some examples in the spoiler section below, so read at your own risk:
(Examples were removed from review because of spoilers.)

Molly refers to Zeke as "Sad Eyes" which was fine the first time, but as a endearment it's just weird. The bad guy is nicknamed "Santa" which is ever weirder, and has the opposite effect of trying to establish his character as the villain.

And I NEVER want to hear the phrase "pee slit" again. Never ever.

The narrator has a nice voice, but his interpretation of the characters was too different than mine. I'd listen to him again to see if it was just this story, though. Not so much for the author, I'm afraid.

I received a free audio version of this story in exchange for an honest review. I do not know the author and have not exchanged messages with her (or a PA) other than to receive the code.

The relationship between Victor and Jacob has never played a big role in the series, but it's practically nonexistent in this story. They were going in different directions. The storyline is still on par with the rest of the series, but I need more romance to keep going for a whole series.

The EPITOME of dark bully romance!

WOW! If Bully King was a movie, I'd be walking out of the theater and right back to the ticket counter to watch it again. I was not expecting the effed-up-edness of this story, but it was fabulous!

I've read a few bully romances before, but they were NOTHING like Bully King. This is the *epitome* of a bully romance. Not only is the hero a bully, but everyone else is too. They've all grown up in an emotionally destructive environment and learned that it's all about protecting yourself first and foremost.

The beginning of the story starts strong and never wanes. Cadee is quickly caught up in a mess that throws her full-stop into the machinations of the rich and bored-with-money elite. You learn early on that she isn't a quitter, though. She doesn't back down from the assholes. She stands firm and with fortitude.

If you are skittish about books that romanticize taboo things, then this might not be for you. On the surface it will appear like college kids hazing each other in twisted ways, so be forewarned!

Jacob Morgan and Emma Wilder are both great narrators; I've listened to both of them many times. Jacob gave Cooper the perfect amount of attitude and inflection for his character. But it was Emma that blew me away with her performance! Her interpretation of Cadee was great, but it was the voices/accents of the other female characters that had me backing up to listen to certain scenes twice.

If dark bully romance is your thing, you'll love Bully King!

I won a review copy of the audiobook from the author in exchange for an honest review. I have never spoken with her or exchanged messages other than to receive the code.

I enjoyed book 2 as much as the first. There was more action in this one. (I meant outside of the bedroom, but come to think of it... there was more inside too!)

OMG I laughed out loud at "Jackie" the dead prostitute in Chapter 8 (I think.) The narrator Gomez Pugh did a great job on her voice, as well as all of the others.

I just couldn't stay interested. It wasn't bad, but around 50% I was bored and ready to find something else. I didn't really see a strong connection to the fable either. Well known, Class A narrators so that wasn't an issue.

Narrator Sierra Kline had the perfect sultry voice for erotica. It was pretty great for a short (30 min) erotica story. I loved the first line and how it started. It wasn't sex on page 1, which I found to be refreshing. The whole story was a bit different and twisty. There aren't many FFM stories out there about a gay female. If dirty sex (I don't mean kinky) bothers you, this might not be the book for you, though.

I LOVED Deacon and Julian's story! It was the perfect flow from grieving into grasping (to each other, to life, to just keep breathing,) into holding on, into holding tighter, into falling in love, into loving deeply, into loving beyond your past, into loving for your a lifetime.

Teddy Hamilton and Tim Paige do a wonderful job of bringing this story to life! Well worth the credit!

DUET narration, and Alan Adelberg is YUMMY!

I listened to this audiobook *specifically* because I LOVE Alan Adelberg narrating romance! His voice has a beautifully rich tone and he puts on a great performance. (All those chuckles made me smile A LOT!)

The story was cute and light, so I thought it was just OK. I don't think I would have stopped listening with a different male narrator, so it was engaging but a little too simple of a story for me. But BIG points for duet narration, which is so hard to find. I need more Alan Adelberg in my library!!

I enjoyed the story, the characters, and the writing style. If you can suspend disbelief, you'll be fine. (Spoilers omitted.) I get a little picky on those details, but I still enjoyed the story. I must have read too many highlander time travel novels because I couldn't wrap my head around this being a contemporary story with all the talk about clans. The ending was very sudden; At first I thought it was the end of a chapter. Maybe an epilogue or lead-in to the next book would have helped. As for the "Dom" or BDSM elements, it was mild. Spanking, verbally dominant (not abusive) in and out of bed, stereotypical visit to a sex club.

Narration: I love the tone of Wen and Kai's voices, and they give a great performance, but the accents just didn't feel authentic to me. Not that I know anything about Irish accents.
