More of what you love
Revisado: 11-10-23
If you enjoyed the first two in the series, you'll be quite entertained by this one! Younger sister, back to Love Boat, gracefully weaves in old favorites. Literary masterpiece? Maybe not. But tons of fun and worth your time.

Historia
Garm trained her whole life as a member of the secretive Quadrad organization. Her planet is famous for its assassins and governmental manipulators. It’s whispered that behind every mysterious death lurks a Quadrad. But when Garm enters the wide galaxy, she finds her prestigious training entirely insufficient. Most Quadrad are abysmal failures, unable to cope in an advanced technological empire. The Quadrad are nothing but a very clever marketing campaign that has been going on for 20,000 years. But Garm is different.

Not my fav
Revisado: 07-09-21
I'll admit, I love the Hard Luck Hank series, I was hoping that this was somehow going to tie into it vs being a one-off how Garm got into the Navy story. Sadly, it's that. While it wasn't a terrible story (I did finish it! I was tempted to quit, but figured I'd go until the end, which I did and honestly thought it got better.), it wasn't a Hard Luck Hank book.
I eagerly anticipate the next one, just not one of these.

Historia
Although Thomas Alva Edison was the most famous American of his time, and remains an international name today, he is mostly remembered only for the gift of universal electric light. His invention of the first practical incandescent lamp 140 years ago so dazzled the world - already reeling from his invention of the phonograph and dozens of other revolutionary devices - that it cast a shadow over his later achievements. In all, this near-deaf genius patented 1,093 inventions, not including others, such as the X-ray fluoroscope, that he left unlicensed for the benefit of medicine.

Reverse chronology kills it for me.
Revisado: 11-10-19
The reverse chronology... It just killed me. I couldn't finish. I wanted to like it, but the further back I went, the more frustrating it became (for me).
