Held me hostage!
Revisado: 12-04-24
This was my first Abby Jimenez book, but definitely not my last because I’ve already bought the next one in this series! I bought it when I was not even halfway finished with this one! Narration was great and they are 2 of my favorites.

This book grabbed me from the beginning and didn’t let go until very end. I highly recommend this book if you enjoy dual time lines and twist that you weren’t expecting.

Love a secret society!
Revisado: 10-21-24
I thought the book’s premise was thought provoking and it made me contemplate what I would do if I were faced with some of the circumstances of characters. I don’t want to give away anything, so just read/listen to the book!

Revisado: 08-18-24
I was born in 68 so I don’t really remember anything about the war. I’m also a nurse and I wonder if I would have had the courage to volunteer to go to Vietnam. I doubt it, I can’t believe that there was a time when a nurse who had been in Vietnam would have been told that they didn’t see combat. Wow.
This would make a really good limited series. There is too much for a movie and I think it would be better served to a series IMO!

Slow at first
Revisado: 06-30-24
I felt like the story was a little slow in the beginning, but about half way through it started becoming really interesting. I didn’t see a few of the twists coming at all. Nice ending.

Twisted
Revisado: 02-04-24
I was about a third of the way through the audiobook and had already decided that Sophie was quite nutty. I was really contemplating not finishing the book and even a little tuned out until Frantz came along. I was quite tuned back in and there were so many twists that I didn’t see coming at all. I like unpredictably a LOT!! If you’re a fan of psychological thrillers then this is your book!

Just like the first book in the series, it was fast paced and kept me interested. There were definitely twists that I didn’t see coming and I LOVE THAT! I hope that the series continues with Travis and maybe a certain female or two! The narration was also top notch.

Historia
It's nearly Christmas, Julia Devine's favourite time of the year. She's just programmed a wonderful lead into the holidays at Sunny Street Cinema, which leaves her plenty of time to worry about going home to Cumbria for Christmas. Her mum and stepdad are fine, but the thought of spending another holiday with her awful stepsister Becca is enough to make a Scrooge out of anyone. When Becca calls to let her know about the dreamy pilot she's bringing to Christmas lunch, Julia finally snaps and does something very silly.

Very enjoyable Christmas short story
Revisado: 01-02-24
This is a great Christmas short story set in England that was predictable, but absolutely lovely! Julia is a quirky character who runs a movie theatre in London where classic movies are shown. She has an encounter where she notices someone think that Sam is the movie star, Hugo Turner. Through another chance encounter she sees him again in a restaurant in which the same thing happens again and the fan is relentless in hassling him about being the movie star until Julia plops down with him and begins pretending to be his girlfriend and that he is indeed Sam. That is where the fun begins and plans are made to go to her family Christmas and pretend that he is indeed Hugo to one up her awful stepsister and her BA pilot!
Julia and Sam are a delight! Julia’s mum is just the best. Her stepfather is a bit of a pain in the butt, but the stepsister is just the worst!
The author did a great job detailing the story as I felt like I was right in the action. Very entertaining.

Great idea for women’s get together
Revisado: 12-27-23
I really enjoyed this book. The characters were relatable and I liked that they were told in their own point of view. Obviously you like some more than others, but you kind of find yourself rooting for the one that wasn’t your favorite as the story progressed. There was a twist or two that I didn’t see coming, but the story and narration was really good.
