Historia
The grave on the football field is shallow, and easy to spot from a distance. It would have been found sooner, had most of the residents in the black half of Birmingham not been downtown, marching, singing, and being arrested alongside Martin Luther King, Jr. Police detective Ben Wellman is among them when he gets the call about the fresh grave. Under the loosely packed dirt, he finds a young black girl, her innocence taken and her life along with it. His sergeant orders Wellman to investigate, but instructs him not to try too hard.

I love this series. In fact I get so addicted to the story with all the descriptions of life in Venice where I have visited many times I just can't put it down.

I was not too intrigued when this book began however as it continued I became more and more interested. The plot is very good I love the storyline. It's about a cop retired in LA and what he does to help solve a case for his attorney relative.

having grown up in the south I especially appreciated the narrator's southern accent which mezmorized you who the seductive descriptions of Pat Conway. the character depiction, the hidden Mystery, and the elevated vocabulary made this book for me, especially enticing. I could not turn it off.
