The first book was good - not great, but good. Book 2 upped the sex, and it lost appeal. I decided to try Book 3 and it’s a solid NO for me. The story itself is ok, but the sex is over the top and completely unnecessary. I won’t be try any more.

I really didn’t enjoy this book. I found it a complete waste of my time. The only good thing was the narrator. No more Koontz for me.

Loved the whole series except book 10

As a Canadian, I was really offended by the stereotyping in Book 10. Canada is 4/5th English speakers; and almost all French speakers are in the East coast, nowhere near where this book is set. So the use of a ‘French’ accent and even French sounding names, was just downright crazy. Canadians say about, not aboot…seriously, can we drop that already? We do not, I repeat, do NOT say ‘eh’ after every sentence. It’s a stupid stereotype that does no favours to the author. We don’t come after Americans for changing ‘voila’ to (of all things) ‘walla’, so let’s leave it at that. Ok, eh?!!!

Otherwise the book is good. For the ignorant, it won’t matter, for anyone who know anything about Canada, it may sound off…for Canadians it’ll be WTAF!!!!

Wasn’t captivating

I went by the reviews, but this one just missed the mark for me. I’m not a fan of individual character talking and jumping around so much. It can get tedious, if not confusing. I figured this one out about 3/4 through, so the story itself wasn’t the issue. It just didn’t resonate with me. It was well written and narrated.

Unnecessarily crude. I’m not opposed to profanity, but it felt completely unnecessary in this case. Ya, too many reasons I didn’t like this.

Perhaps not the best book for audio

I agree with what other listeners have said - the chat room parts are lengthy, confusing, and use too many abbreviations (many may not know what these mean). Overall, it’s a good story that didn’t need to have the chat part. An explanation of what was said may have worked better. I get that this book’s story falls mainly on chat room convos, but it just didn’t make for the greatest listen. I imagine the actual book may do better on that part. The narrator was exceptional. The romantic relationship between Cormoran and Robin is dragging on too long. Personally, I’d like to see that blossom quicker. I do recommend this book.
