Loved this and the rest of the series so far. Took a chance as I read the reviews and people were comparing the series with Sanderson who I love.
I do not regrett it - wow - wow and wow. You are thrown in at the very begining and then you have no choice but to listen and listen. The characters have depth, truth and realism on their side, the worlds are also believeable, strong and not that confusing. By the time you have finished the first book, you are hooked to the story, characters and their plight. I even dreamed of them when I went to bed at night :-)
I heard all 4 books straight through and was rather disapointed when I discovered that the series is NOT finished - I had hoped that I would get some kind of conclusion, on the other hand I have even more to look forward to.
The narrator is just amazing loved how he made all the characters come alive, for me King Gudrund sounded like Sean Connory, and that can not be bad :-)
A series I would reccomend to all who love Sanderson - it is right up there. Good to have another fantasy author to enjoy.

Sad but wonderful
Revisado: 04-18-16
I loved this story, though what took away from it was the narrator - I could not get comfortable with the way he read, breathless and like he was late for something. On the positive note though, he kept true to his voices so you could distinguish them.
The plot was easy enough to get hold of, and the end was no surprice but that is usually how things are with me, I find that the way I get to the end is the most interresting thing, not the conclusion of the story. I loved that I got all three books at once am soo sick of waiting for the next book in a series. The main character was as expected though I lacked information about his past, I would have liked to know what he was like before he became a Knight. We have no reference points to the character of the main person so could not know if he had changed a lot or not. Except for these little things I loved the book and the story, highly reccomended if you like this kind of book.

Loved it!!!! Give me the next one NOW!!!!!
Revisado: 03-30-16
Loved the character Aeden and his plight. I fell right under the spell and dreamed about what might happen next. The days did not have enough hours so took the night as well. The main character is young and some reviews have said it is not believable, but for me totally believable. The "supporting" characters are also good, the world created is pretty standard - good and evil stuff, or are they??? The story hints of things to come and this is very intriguing. Of cours there is love and like all playgrounds scuffels and irritations, but you get throuhg those without too much hassel. I liked that we got introduced to the plot quickly and that the charecters were then buildt up, also liked that we were introduced to the inner life of Aeden, his thoughts and feelings good or bad. I can't wait for the next book, I really am a person that don't like waiting for books and I now find myself with 3/4 series that I am waiting for the next one. I gave performance a lower score as sometimes it sounded as if another person had stepped in to read a sentence or two - irritating.

Historia
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

Loved it!!!!
Revisado: 12-11-12
What an amazing book. I have never read anything from this author earlier so I had no expectations at all. Though reading the review something caught my interest. This was a book that I could not stop listening to. The story is way out there but at the same time it could happen. I also loved the dialouges between the caracters - they really made me laugh out loud.
The main caracter is an anti-hero and so are the rest of the players in this story - also one knows at once that something is off from the first minute - though it takes a long time for the plot to get obvious. Though it does take some time this time is not boring it is interesting to get to know the caracters it really lends to the story, also I guess that the caracters are what makes this story.
Try it if you want something different from what you normally read then this is a book for you, as I said I loved it!!

Historia
The four dead guards didn’t concern Mitch Rapp as much as the absence of the man they’d been paid to protect. Joe Rickman wasn’t just another foot soldier. For the last eight years Rickman had ran the CIA’s clandestine operations in Afghanistan. It was a murky job that involved working with virtually every disreputable figure in the Islamic Republic. More than a quarter billion dollars in cash had passed through Rickman’s hands during his tenure as the master of black ops and no one with a shred of sense wanted to know the details of how that money had been spent.

Good but no surprices
Revisado: 12-11-12
The story is pretty seethrough - but then I have read/listened to a few of these books by now. The caracters is what make this story good. I got really involved with the caracters and could relate to all of them. Some made me really irritated for being so extremly naive and gullible with no critical sense at all, while others intrigued me and made me want to learn more about them. The storyline was pretty basic and one knew the outcome pretty quickly. I bought this book because I was hopeing it would be different - but I was let down there. I also had a bit of a problem with the narrator - his speach was not clear enough for my liking - at the same time his performance matched the caracters in the book. I guess its just me who is not used to this slurry speach.
Good enough but no surprises unless you get excited about the caracters. I would recommend it for braindead entertainment.

Just when Alex Cross thought his life was calming down into a routine of patients and therapy sessions, he finds himself back in the game - this time to catch a criminal mastermind like no other. A spate of elaborate murders in Washington, D.C., have the whole East Coast on edge. They are like nothing Alex Cross and his new girlfriend, Detective Brianna Stone, have ever seen.

Better than expected
Revisado: 09-10-12
I really enjoyed this Cross book. The storytellers were better and easier to distinguish between. I really enjoyd the plot and also meeting 'old friends' again. I thought the play between Alex and Brianna was really good and I enjoyed that she was portraied as a strong able woman. This plot was better than I had expected and I loved the twists and turns. It keeps you in suspence and makes you want to listen more. This book was a 'sit-down and listen' kind of book. You had to concentrate to get all the nuances, but at the same time I let it rest for about 2 weeks and then picked up right where I left off without hesitation. It was great.
The storytellers are really good. I especially enjoy the combination of Fernandez and Stuhlbard, better than Fernandez and Jay. I will be looking out for this combination of storytellers as they made the story come alive, one could feel that one was IN the story not just listening to it.
If you have not read any of the other Cross books then do NOT start with this one, it has references to earlier books which if you do not know these books then you will miss out on a lot of the story. For the rest of you highly recommended listening :-)
ENJOY!

Entertaining as always
Revisado: 09-10-12
What made the experience of listening to Cross the most enjoyable?
The storytellers were pretty good, but as a new audiobook person, it took a while to get into the story by listning, not by reading. I had problems differentiating between the storytellers and would have enjoyed a bigger difference between them. The best thing about the Cross books is that you can establish a connection with the personas in the story. One can relate to them and smile or get sad on their behalf, here the storyteller has done a good job. Also being able to enjoy a good book while doing other things like run, bike, housework or drive was great I really enjoyed that. The story was good, and it linked back to the death of Cross' wife which gave it a bit of a twist though the Cross books always do.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Peter J. Fernandez and Jay O. Sanders ?
I guess so....
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No exteme reactions to this book, it did not surprise, it gave me what I wanted as the Cross books always do. Kind of 'no-thinking' entertainment - not to say that the book was bad - but it did not surprise either. It lived up to the expectations :-)
