The story took innumerable twists and turns as characters stumbled thru London Below. I needed at least a half hour listening at a time.

Historia
As a child, Chris Hooper dreamed of monsters. But in deep space, he found only darkness and isolation. Then, on planet LV178, he and his fellow miners discovered a storm-scoured, sand-blasted hell - and trimonite, the hardest material known to man. When a shuttle crashes into the mining ship Marion, the miners learn that there was more than trimonite deep in the caverns. There was evil, hibernating and waiting for suitable prey.

Good listen. My 1st Aud. Original
Revisado: 06-09-19
for a new audible Originals listener this was a great start for me. The story was quasi familiar to me. The acting was terrific! It kept me engaged. It kept me wanting to come back. And I can't wait to find the sequel. If you're at all hesitating about an audible original don't wait any longer!

Good Intro to the series
Revisado: 04-09-19
Definitely in my wheel house of storyline I enjoy. Well the book was little long, it was well worth the many hours I took listening to it. Stefan Rudnicki is among my favorite narrators. Gabrielle de Cuir was also stellar in her performance.
It's enough to bring me back to a regular Audible subscription for at least one more book!

consider the time it was written
Revisado: 02-12-19
it's rare that I review of books that I've listened to recently. But this book was interesting. Difficult for me to get into until I went back to see when the original copyright was. 1968. So here is Michael Crichton I don't know if this is his first medical mystery book or not? but the topic of abortion in Boston in 1968 is it's fascinating to go back and listen to what doctors went through back thenen. The appendices were written very interesting late given its 2019. All of the pronouns are he all of the doctors are male . There is no she except the woman requesting or end or receiving the abortion. It's well worth a listen.

it was a bit of a slow start for me and while I enjoy this genre, it took a bit to suspend disbelief. Loved the full cast narration and had no problem identifying the characters who were speaking.

Long and winding road
Revisado: 06-05-17
When I began this book, I had no idea of its length. It came highly recommended both for the story and the performances. It more than satisfied me for a few weeks.
Just when it seemed there was an end, another plot twist. Many of the Gods I knew from my own practices but many were totally unknown nor did I recognize the pantheon to which they belonged. When the young woman declared that she knew the meaning behind Easter (Ostara) because she was "pagan" she's Goddess centered- but had no idea what that meant, I was jumping up and down in my car seat stopped at a traffic light hollering that *I* KNOW! There were many such moments in the book.
I understand there is a film/ series of this book. It will be interesting to see the characters come to life.

But this new-found serenity is quickly shattered when the highly vocal and unpopular president of the Women's Institute turns up dead at the Harvest Fayre. My new favorite detective
Revisado: 04-25-16
Would you listen to Wicked Autumn again? Why?
I doubt that I would listen to the book again because there are SO many other books in my Library or on my Wish List for this author.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Wicked Autumn?
The murder scene and the "witnesses" memories just prior to the murder.
Which scene was your favorite?
The confrontation of the suspect was my favorite. Lots of suspense leading to the "catch". Father Max used his previous calling to outwit the suspect.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Father Max catches the usual suspect.
Any additional comments?
I got this book in exchange for another one and the story, plot and character development convinced me to pursue the entire series. Put this on YOUR WishList!

They saved the worst for last.
Revisado: 02-01-15
It is hard to call the series by the authors a trilogy since only two characters are present in all 3 books. This was the longest, drawn out "story" I've endured inn all the years I've been an Audible listener.
Not only was the editing job horrible with several minutes of narrative repeated but the narrator changed accents and I often lost track of which character was speaking. Many times I fast forwarded to get to the end.
