Historia
Agent Isaac Steele has problems. He spends all his splibs on drink and drugs. He has some deep-seated and very much unresolved issues with his parents. And his robotic partner at Greatest Britain’s Department of Clarification, Dr Timothy Stephens, is ruled more by his heart than his hard drive. But all these issues take a back seat when Isaac stumbles upon a case involving the most sensitive information in the cosmos - a Never File, inaccessible to all except those with the highest clearance. He is expressly forbidden to involve himself. So naturally he does.

I listen to this while I worked on home projects and nearly listened all in one shot. It was interesting enough to listen to humor, which was good and a pretty good story worth a listen.

I can't believe I listen to this!
Revisado: 09-24-23
Economics is something I didn't think I would listen to on my days off. But, I found it oddly fulfilling to my life meaning to educate myself and be in the virtual company of those who work for economic fairness and to call out the lies that have been taken for granted by the majority about the trickle-down economic con.
I've lived with the poorest of the poor and I will tell you their suffering is directly related to the extreme economic inequality and corruption that started way back with colonization. There is a light of hope among a roar of misinformation supporting the escalating, exponential economic inequality.
Anyone who supports the golden rule will find this helpful.
From hearing many near-death experiences people relate-this is actually the foundation of what actions are goodness in our lives.

Historia
It is 1890, and in the days before Christmas, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson are visited at Baker Street by a new client. Eve Allerthorpe, eldest daughter of a grand but somewhat eccentric Yorkshire-based dynasty, is greatly distressed, as she believes she is being haunted by a demonic Christmas spirit. Her late mother told her terrifying tales of the sinister Black Thurrick, and Eve is sure that she has seen the creature from her bedroom window. What is more, she has begun to receive mysterious parcels of birch twigs, the Black Thurrick’s calling card.

The story was good, but the way it was written was like poetry, and the narrator was able to narrate that type of literature fantastically it was fun

Factfulness: The stress-reducing habit of carrying only opinions for which you have strong supporting facts. When asked simple questions about global trends - what percentage of the world's population live in poverty; why the world's population is increasing; how many girls finish school - we systematically get the answers wrong. In Factfulness, professor of international health and global TED phenomenon Hans Rosling, together with his two longtime collaborators, Anna and Ola, offers a radical new explanation of why this happens.

Misleading to say the least

I tried listening to this book I really did. Every paragraph seemed more and more like this book is meant to be the arrogant Defense of a person feeling better about their selfishness. I have been to impoverished countries enough to know that these statistics are a simplified way of providing miss information for right wing causes, and supporting trickle down economics. No wonder why one of the worlds wealthiest people love this book.

For as long as Fei can remember, there has been no sound in her village, where rocky terrain and frequent avalanches prevent residents from self-sustaining. Fei and her people are at the mercy of a zipline that carries food up the treacherous cliffs from Beiguo, a mysterious faraway kingdom. When villagers begin to lose their sight, deliveries from the zipline shrink and many go hungry. Fei’s home, the people she loves, and her entire existence is plunged into crisis, under threat of darkness and starvation.

Not Worth it
Revisado: 07-17-21
The narrator was fantastic the story was kind of bland but at least it wasn’t too depressing. Rachelle made has a really good knack for romantic tension in relationships which showed a little bit – but her other books it was far far better this could have been developed a lot more overall I kind of felt like it was just filling in time.

Historia
When ancient people first sought to explain the mysteries of their own lives, they looked to the heavens. There, they saw a perfect reflection linking them directly with an omniscient universe. The study of the stars and the study of the psyche comprised a single science - astrology - that led C. G. Jung to describe astrology as "the first form of psychology". Visionary Activist Astrology escorts you through the mists of time to our own century, when science has verified what ancient people knew instinctively.

Most books about the history of humanity pursue either a historical or a biological approach, but Dr. Yuval Noah Harari breaks the mold with this highly original book. From examining the role evolving humans have played in the global ecosystem to charting the rise of empires, Sapiens integrates history and science to reconsider accepted narratives, connect past developments with contemporary concerns, and examine specific events within the context of larger ideas.

Great Book for discussion
Revisado: 11-04-17
The book is good for presenting a baseline for a fascinating discussion. Yuval has an enthusiasm and knowledge of the subject and is able to add incredible value to the discussion of our individual lives in the context of history. Especially groundbreaking is his courageous and novel presentation on the importance of mythologies.

Historia
No subject is bigger than reality itself, and nothing is more challenging to understand, since what counts as reality is undergoing continual revision and has been for centuries. The quest to pin down what's real and what's illusory is both philosophical and scientific, a metaphysical search for ultimate reality that goes back to the ancient Greeks. For the last 400 years, this search has been increasingly guided by scientists, who create theories and test them in order to define and redefine reality.
