Not my favorite Freida book
Revisado: 03-14-25
Unlikable main character, hard to believe she's a med student! Definitely not her best. Twists were blah. First of her books I've read that I didn't care for.

Historia
Now reduced to a schoolyard chant, the Hope family murders shocked the Maine coast one bloody night in 1929. While most people assume seventeen-year-old Lenora was responsible, the police were never able to prove it. Other than her denial after the killings, she has never spoken publicly about that night, nor has she set foot outside Hope’s End, the cliffside mansion where the massacre occurred.

The main character is hard to like
Revisado: 09-14-23
Story is ok, I bought this book because I like the narrator, Karissa Vacker is my favorite narrator, but her voicing of the main character and child was kind of annoying in this one.
Jo (main character) is overly dramatic and so worried about fitting in that it's sad.
3 hours to go, and I knew what the twist was gonna be, so it was pretty predictable for me.
Took me over a week to finish because it wasn't very exciting.
If you are in doubt, it's a pass.

Tedious
Revisado: 08-17-23
I listened to the whole book in my work commute and kept waiting to be better and never did. Super predictable, characters were hard to follow and just a lot of added things that weren't necessary..like, what's up with a full intercourse narration in the last our of a thriller book, like...so out of place!

What is going on with Zoey's accent?? it's awful
Revisado: 05-01-23
I really enjoy this story but I don't think I can keep going, her fake Boston accent is so bad! I actually bought the book because I enjoy Brittany's narration but why did she have to do an accent she isn't an expert on? she makes Zoey sound dumb, I can't give her any credibility because she talks like she can't say some words and it's totally out of contest! why was this accent OK for the book? and it's a series I'd like to listen too but it's so bad when she speaks that I loose focus and hurts my brain. it's that bad!
The story itself has been great so far, I may have to just get the book in print this time!

The only reason I listened to the whole book is because of the amazing narrator!
main character is whiny and not captivating. The end is unimpressive and makes no sense. it trues to be a shocker but does not accomplish that!

Boring

The narrator's voice is annoying, and the plot is bland, with no suspense and poor development of characters. Ending isn't satisfying, and the main character isn't likable at all!
