Historia
From June 1967 to June 1968, Tom Johnson accumulated an astonishing 1,600 flying hours piloting the UH-1 "Iroquois" - better known as the "Huey" - as part of the famous First Air Cavalry Division. His battalion was one of the most decorated units of the Vietnam War, and helped redefine modern warfare. Johnson's riveting memoir takes us into key battles and rescue missions, including those for Hue and Khe Sanh. In harrowing detail, he tells of being shot down in the battle of A Shau Valley, of surviving enemy attacks during the Tet Offensive, and of a death-defying nighttime river rescue.

Wishing for more talk of the socialization between the members of his fellow forces but the mission stories are inspiring
Revisado: 11-20-23
It’s a good story mainly showing how hard it was on a young man flying during Vietnam. There are so many books on our other wars that I recommend this to get grip on the true reality of the every day soldier during that war. Well written well performed

It was good and well written. There is so much that could be covered but they did their best to make sure to not go overboard on each specific subject so it’s a great springboard especially for people starting out for learning ww2 facts!

Historia
Two years ago, Dr. Gina Brady broke Thomas Prescott’s heart, but now her panic-stricken satellite phone call starts it beating again with a fury. Thugs kidnapped the good doctor from the remote jungle village where she was working, and now the retired homicide detective’s expert skills are desperately needed to save her. Led by a colorful, but perhaps untrustworthy local guide, Prescott journeys deep into the Bolivian Amazon, plunging into a world where the only thing more dangerous than the gun-toting drug traffickers and the ruthless tribesmen, is the jungle itself.

The best book series ever
Revisado: 01-25-23
Not kidding. Comparing this to the 3am series, the narrator is phenomenal, endless moments of story gold. You really have to be able to handle a certain humor to truly enjoy these stories, and I think nick hits the exact “funny bone” I have. I cannot write enough about how I stopped reading and listening to 4 books just to make it thru this all in 2.5 days. No writer can keep my attention unlike him (adhd mind explains why I try to read 4 books at once) but this guy makes me laugh like I’m at a comedy show while writing about people dying and getting shot/serious topics… (and yes full blown out loud belly laughs especially because the narrator has the best the best chemistry with the character….) idk how these aren’t on film yet. Maybe his Netflix comments are a hint but who knows one can hope.
PS. I’d pay to be a beta reader of any of his stuff and cannot wait for this next book coming.

Henry Bins is only awake one hour a day. Can you imagine only being awake for one hour each day? Can you imagine having to cram your entire existence into sixty measly minutes? Two minutes to shower. Three minutes to eat. Five minutes to watch TV. And in that 3600 seconds you have awake, imagine that you have to figure out...Who murdered the woman across the street?

Revisado: 01-22-23
Legit my favorite audio artist out there. It’s like Kurt Vonnegut in todays world mixed in with super weird idk like satire/three stooges type moves all while still retaining the thriller mystery category and leaving u to want more and the last ending is by far one to make you wanna spend extra money for an early copy of whatever’s next! Prescott is the better character but I’m always impressed. Listen asap

When Kentucky blueblood Drew Thornton parachuted to his death in September 1985 - carrying thousands in cash and 150 pounds of cocaine - the gruesome end of his startling life blew open a scandal that reached to the most secret circles of the US government. The story of Thornton and “The Company” he served, and the lone heroic fight of State Policeman Ralph Ross against an international web of corruption, is one of the most portentous tales of the 20th century.

Exactly what my subject says. Just gives you much more detail that actually is almost too much and becomes confusing at times. You need one of those walls with red string connecting all the pictures of different people lol

Revisado: 01-10-23
Superb. It is a super fast story didnt realize how much can be learned but this book may be one to read in actual print because the stats/numbers would be good to go back to and find cuz boy is this a sad story
It’s unreal how much the government didn’t care as long as people got paid in order to keep ‘em their positions in government and whatnot. Total eye opener that everyone should read esp when it comes around to voting time

A complete crime fiction box set! Homicide detective Thomas Prescott may be retired—but a serial killer, a high-profile murder, an ill-fated cruise, and a chilling small-town crime add more than enough excitement to his hard-earned rest. This collection includes the first four books: Unforeseen, Gray Matter, The Afrikaans, and Show Me.

Oh my gosh! THE best collection I’ve found on here!
Revisado: 01-04-23
I will start by saying… this style of writing isn’t for everyone, but for me… it is perfect! I love how it has both. A serious tone, but throws in totally classic lines left and right that made me sometimes laugh out loud! He magically balances this stuff better than anyone else I’ve read. Sometimes his creativeness is unreal and I love it’s uniqueness. Also the reading of the stories is done in a great way…..which I’ve been noticing that I need to always listen to the sample prior to purchasing the book. Some stories sound great but the “voice actor” can greatly effect the way I feel about the story and hurt my concentration. This collection is by far my favorite thing I’ve found out of my library of like over 200 different things I’ve tried or finished so please give it a try. I’d think the majority of people interested in this genre will love it like I do!
(I’m 31 years old… and the genre is my favorite so I will say this may be more for the people of the technological generation and may put off some older readers but it all depends on your feelings of humor really!)
Can’t wait to read the 3 am collection next!

Unique
Revisado: 12-06-22
Deep. Very deep. Uniquely done and makes you think more beyond just the normal war and fight stories. If into world war history this should be added to see a humanistic style of leaders especially during ww2. Makes you see where and how and why the US is what it is today as well as Britain. Canning of Winston shows how they feel today and FDRs commitment to trying to balance the isolationism vs battling evil embraces how the US is now the dang “global police” (which I dislike and would have fit into a US isolationist at the time, however after seeing the end, I understand that it was necessary and the Cold War was then basically “necessary”
