Historia
In 2009, Susannah Cahalan woke up in a strange hospital room strapped to a bed, under guard, and unable to move or speak. Her medical records - from a month-long hospital stay of which she had no memory - reported psychosis, violence, and dangerous instability. Yet, only weeks earlier she had been a healthy, ambitious twenty-four-year-old, six months into her first serious relationship and a sparkling career as a cub reporter

Very interesting...
Revisado: 10-29-16
My sister told me about this book. As a physician I'm now thinking a couple of my patients need brain biopsies :) Seriously though I think it was a very interesting listen and I now have an additional diagnosis on my differential for acute mental status change. Also think it is interesting that auto-immune diseases appear to becoming more common these days.

Historia
Twenty-one-year-old Kick Lannigan is a survivor. She can pick any lock, fire any weapon, throw any knife, and aim a punch at her opponent’s trachea. And when the enigmatic John Bishop shows up asking her to help him rescue missing kids, Kick has every reason to be wary. He appears to have access to limitless money, high-level contacts, and details of Kick’s background long kept sealed by the court. Yet everything he tells her about himself seems to be a lie.

Not worth my time
Revisado: 08-26-14
I rarely write reviews, but I'm not sure I'll finish this book. Poor storyline with characters that are extreme - Kick is too good at everything, mother is too evil, Bishop too mysterious. Story about a child abducted for child porn, but still loves her abductor who refuses to tell the location of other houses where other children might be. Story just doesn't make sense

Crazy true story, but a little slow at times. Had to keep listening to find out what really happened.

Couldn't keep my attention
Revisado: 08-15-11
Interesting story about Vietnam, but just couldn't keep my attention. Not sure if it was the narrator who was very monotone or just the slow storyline. Maybe both. Car ride material maybe, but not while running, cleaning or cooking.

Good Story Good Performance
Revisado: 08-31-10
I usually don't take time to review books, but I since I often use the reviews to help me decide on books I thought I would take the time for this one. I kept seeing it in the stores and on the audible website wondering what was making it so popular as it personally doesn't sound all that intriguing. Not only is it a well written and endearing story, but it is a perfect audiobook. The three main characters are casted so well and bring out the southern culture as I never would have experienced just reading it. Fantastic audiobook.
