Historia
As President Trump’s national security advisor, John Bolton spent many of his 453 days in the room where it happened, and the facts speak for themselves. The result is one of the few White House memoirs to date by a top-level official. With almost daily access to the president, John Bolton has produced a precise rendering of his days in and around the Oval Office. What Bolton saw astonished him: a president for whom getting reelected was the only thing that mattered, even if it meant endangering or weakening the nation.

Too involved and drawn out.
Revisado: 06-26-20
this book is written as if true government insiders were the audience. The details of the chaos are drawn out and boring. Bolton could have summarized Trump's ignorance and total incompetence with a few simple instances. I would like to return this book.

In Phineas Finn, the second of the Palliser series, Trollope balances the rival demands of public and private life. Best Trollope yet.
Revisado: 07-17-17
Easy to follow and with good characters. No exceedingly stuffy church people. I much prefer the secular Trollope.

Historia
The third novel in the Palliser series, The Eustace Diamonds is a satirical study of the influence of money and greed on human relationships in Victorian society. The story follows two contrasting women and their courtships. Lizzie Greystock and Lucy Morris are both hampered in their love affairs by their lack of money. Lizzie’s trickery and deceit, however, contrast with Lucy’s constancy.

Historia
From the Gilded Age until 1914, more than 100 American heiresses invaded Britannia and swapped dollars for titles - just like Cora Crawley, Countess of Grantham, the first of the Downton Abbey characters Julian Fellowes was inspired to create after reading To Marry An English Lord. Filled with vivid personalities, gossipy anecdotes, grand houses, and a wealth of period details-plus quotes and the finer points of Victorian and Edwardian etiquette - To Marry An English Lord is social history at its liveliest and most accessible.

Extremely entertaining
Revisado: 06-29-17
Loved it. My academic studies prove that this book is exactly what happened in the American exchange for fascinating straightforward ladies with money for titles without wealth to keep the lavish British lifestyles and houses going.

Set during the great San Francisco earthquake and fire, this pause-resisting historical novel reveals recently uncovered facts that forever change our understanding of what really happened. Narrated by a feisty young reporter, Annalisa Passarelli, the novel paints a vivid picture of the Post-Victorian city, from the mansions of Nob Hill to the underbelly of the Barbary Coast, to the arrival of tenor Enrico Caruso and the Metropolitan Opera.

Historia
Described by the Duke of Wellington as "the most extraordinary compound of talent, wit, buffoonery, obstinacy and good feeling that I ever saw in one character in my life", George Augustus Frederick, Prince of Wales, later George IV, was a highly controversial figure. He courted both Whigs and Tories in his attempts to establish the Regency during the "madness" of his father, George III.

Excellent information about the time of George IV. Easy to follow. This book fills the gap between George IV and the monarchs to follow.
