I hate this writing style. half the book is the narrator telling you what happens over a couple days but never showing the details. the narrator will tell you these 2 became friends over the week, but not show the interactions between them

V.O.s are great
character interactions are good, but non main character can seem shallow
The only real problem with this series is the mc seems allergic to picking any TIME MAGIC in a book called MINUTE MAGE. he mainly focuses on spells that stack or ramp over time. Witch i guess is "time" based. the worst example (spoiler for book 3) he passes over a Ability that let's him see 3 sec into the future all the time, saying 3 seconds ain't long(i give you 10s to think how busted it would be just for combat). He then picks an Ability that ramps his spells over time when dealing constant damage and says 10s is a really long time in combat. at least make up your mind on your opinion on combat time.

This is mainly here for me to rant because I wanted a TIME MAGE story.
It's a really good series if you just think a it as a system fantasy with some time abilities.

not bad. it would be good if the books were just made longer instead of split up so short. with like 1/3 of the books being flashbacks it makes the short books seem even shorter.
probably could have been alot better if he didn't spoil his own backstory

Lots of predictability. decent characters

I have listened to alot of system based litrpgs and this one's system seems so boring. Basically everyone is what holy classes would be in other systems(ie. Paladin healer protector ect). I've gotten thru half of the book and there has been not even one morally Grey or black human character even hinted at. like it just feels bland. not bad just nothing to hook me either. idk if I'll finish it

kinda spoiler alert.
So the author dosent really have a long term goal or struggle till the second book witch kinda makes sense because he's trapped in the dungeon in this one. The problem is the struggle is one where if the mc fails basically every character would get sick and die. So I as a reader know that's extremely unlikely because no "main character" is good guy has died at this point so the author will not kill everyone. So the main struggle has no tension making the series feel like side quest after side quest. with the only this to root for is the how the mc wins

first 8 to is 50% stat sheet reading (probably not an exaggeration). the story is bland and mc boring because the voice ACTOR reading didn't really do anything to put emotion into any part of the story.

Good story, gave some chuckles. Only real negative is I feel in the first his skill card was used heavily and almost always applicable, the body card dosent seem to do mich or he just dosent try to gain body skills with it. I get he's trying to hide that he has it but he could do some push-ups before bed or something to raise a strength skill or something. It just feels like the new card wasn't even a main factor in the story other than the fact that he has to hide it.

Good but nothing new

If you liked defiance of the fall you'll like it. It dosent really add anything new to the genre. If you go into it thinking it's in a new galaxy in the same universe you won't be far off.

Dumb ass MC alert

I'll just give an example of Sai dumb ass. So he needs to cross a like 12 feet deep spike pit. instead of creating a landing spot with bodies he uses them to make a ramp down. ok whatever. he slips and impaled his left hand taking him down to 70% health and bleeding. he then takes his last and only FULL healing potion instead of idk wrapping his hand and using it later. a life saving tool used on a minor injury. this dumb assery continues throughout.

voice actor isn't bad
