I am sorry to say that this book was a disappointment. It didn't add anything new to the series and the characters seem suddenly one dimensional. Overall it was just boring. The whole plot / mystery can be figured in the first chapter. I had been looking forward to this 8th book in the Blackmoore Sisters Mystery series, but I had a hard time finishing it. I put it down several times.

I had tons of fun listening to the audiobook. The narrator was great and the characters personalties perfectly revealed as the mystery devoloped. I can't wait for the audiobook version of the rest of this series.

A Scone To Die For is an enjoyable cozy mystery set in Oxford and a nearby Cotswold village tea room. This first novel in the series lets the reader get to know the quirky and slightly complex cast of characters.I look forward to the next four books in series coming to audible.

A light and fun cozy mystery set in the Outer Banks of NC. I enjoyed meeting the characters in and out of the lighthouse library. I was happy to have stayed with the audiobook to the end, even though the narration was not a good fit for the characters or the location. At times the narrator was dull and seemed uninterested in the story which was the good news. When she attempted regional accents they were inconsistant at best. The many completely mispronounced place names in the Outer Banks were cringe-worthy. If a story is set in such a widely known place as the Outer Banks with the main character from Boston, please get the accents and pronunciations correct or don't even try them.

I am glad that I stayed with the story as it was a sweet mystery, with a little Jane Austen thrown in on the side! The next book in The Lighthouse Library Mystery Series might have to wait until I have time to read it rather than listen to it.

Where does The Attenbury Emeralds rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to The Attenbury Emeralds. It has been one of my favorite audiobooks this year!

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

The story used the telling of an old mystery solved by Lord Peter to draw you in, then gave you some twists on the storyline bringing the mystery up to the current time in the Wimsey household. The plot was intriguing and kept my interest all the way through. I was glad to learn about the changes in the Wimsey family over time, and the author was able to seamlessly weave in Bunter's story as well as an update on the lives of Lord Peter's lineage, including the Duke of Denver.

What about Edward Petherbridge’s performance did you like?

To me, Edward Petherbridge is Lord Peter. I enjoyed his performance, but his tone was nearly a whisper at times making it difficult to hear.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Having a previous knowledge of the main characters, I was intrigued by this new tale. It was hard to turn it off.

Any additional comments?

I am anxiously waiting for other Jill Paton Walsh's Lord Peter Wimsey stories to be available in audiobooks. More please!
