Awesome Content
Revisado: 11-27-24
Enjoy Popcorn in Bed and really enjoy learning more about Cassie and Carley in the Podcast. Great content. Volume is perfect. The only issue is (and I do not know if this is my phone, or audiobooks app or the actual recording so I did not count it towards the review) about every minute or so the recording stops for about 2-3 seconds and then continues. Sometimes you do not miss anything - sometimes a word is dropped which can throw off the narrative. Hopefully it is just my phone and an update fixes it - but I do not notice it on other podcasts. But do not hesitate to try these gals out - and if you do not follow Popcorn on Bed on You Tube and you like movies - what are you wating for??

Historia
In ancient Rome, all the best stories have one thing in common - murder. In one 50-year period, 26 emperors were murdered. But what did killing mean in a city where gladiators fought to the death to sate a crowd? In A Fatal Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Emma Southon examines a trove of real-life homicides from Roman history to explore Roman culture, including how perpetrator, victim, and the act itself were regarded by ordinary people. Inside ancient Rome’s darkly fascinating history, we see how the Romans viewed life and death and what it means to be human.

Poor Recording
Revisado: 11-21-24
I very much enjoyed the book- but found the recording very irritating. I do not know of it is the fault of the narrator or the sound engineer - but if there is any background noise at all you need to keep cranking the volume to hear the story. Which means the next thing you listen to (music or news report) is blasting. It is almost like the narrator is trying to appear studious by swallowing her words. Or the tech had the recording level wrong. Either way - it was annoying. My fault for using speakers I guess instead if ear buds. Maybe it would not be so noticeable using ear buds.

For the first captain to be filmed leading the USS Enterprise, Christopher Pike has gotten precious little screen time over the years. That's about to change. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will bring us the stories of the Enterprise under Pike's command, together with Number One, Spock, and a host of familiar faces. Saddle Up! explores the characters and stories that Strange New Worlds brings us each week as we celebrate Star Trek and try to have a little fun along the way.

Two totally different soeakers
Revisado: 05-07-24
I have had a hard time being engaged and listening to mutiple episodes. The content is good I just have an issue with one of the presenters. One speaker is easily listened to - clear and able to be heard and coherent thoughts. The other is about half the volume of the first which makes it hard to hear - but also speaks e x t r e m e l y slow. Almost like he is making it up as he goes. Think a bit before you start recording and speak at a normal cadence instead of all these stops and pauses. If there is a physical or mental reason - my apologies. But your delivery has just made it hard to listen - for me. Splid content though. Almost wish I could read a transcript.
